Deschutes National Forest Approves Fee Increase for 2023 Camping Season

In Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, camping fees for most single and some group campsites will increase by $3 and $17, respectively, due to increasing costs for materials and labor. Hikers will need Central Cascades wilderness permits for all overnight stays in certain areas between June 15 and Oct. 15, but no permits are required for other areas. Day use permits are required at 19 of 79 trailheads, and a limited number of permits will be released for both day and overnight use on specific dates. The fee increase may impact visitor decisions, and the permit information is important for ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience while protecting natural resources.

Unlocking the Potential of Weather Guarantee for Campground Bookings

Sensible Weather, a climate technology company founded by climate scientist Nick Cavanaugh, is revolutionizing campground bookings with its Weather Guarantee. This service offers campers reimbursement for their daily rate if they experience rain, poor air quality, or other undesirable weather during any day of their booking, providing reassurance for both campers and campground owners. Sensible Weather relies on cutting-edge satellite imagery and climate analytics developed from over a decade's worth of research. They have recently integrated with Tentrr, Campspot, and Aspira/Reserve America to offer guests weather guarantees seamlessly within the checkout flow, increasing guest satisfaction and conversion rates. The company is focused on rolling out protection for other weather perils as the outdoor hospitality industry continues to grow.

The American Glamping Association (AGA) has released a safety checklist for first-time glampers to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience. The guide highlights the importance of preparation and awareness, including monitoring the weather, familiarizing oneself with the area, following established fire safety precautions, using insect repellent, maintaining hygiene, bringing a well-stocked first-aid kit, respecting the environment, bringing appropriate gear, staying hydrated and well-fed, understanding how to use equipment and tools properly, and carrying a communication device. By adhering to these guidelines, glampers can immerse themselves in the beauty of nature with confidence and peace of mind.

I've been enjoying these updates. Thank you for putting them together. I have a suggestion: Provide sources with hyperlinks. I often want to dig deeper and find myself doing Google searches for it.
