RV Industry Association Unveils 2025 Federal Advocacy Agenda
The RV Industry Association has unveiled its 2025 federal advocacy agenda as the 119th Congress begins, focusing on key legislative and regulatory priorities to bolster the RV sector. A leading initiative is the Travel Trailer and Camper Tax Parity Act, which aims to amend tax codes that currently disadvantage towable RVs, a sector constituting 85% of the market. The RVIA highlights the importance of strong legislative partnerships, with bipartisan support from Representatives Rudy Yakym and Dina Titus and Senators Joni Ernst and Angus King. The agenda also addresses the reauthorization of the Generalized System of Preferences, which is essential for reducing financial burdens on RV manufacturers due to added duties from its lapse. The association is tackling the “de minimis” loophole under Section 321 and advocating for the renewal of the Great American Outdoors Act, which funds vital infrastructure in national parks. Through initiatives like Advocacy Day during RVs Move America Week in June 2025, stakeholders will engage directly with lawmakers to emphasize the industry’s needs and challenges. The RVIA continues to collaborate with organizations like the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable to amplify advocacy efforts and ensure the sector's interests are well-represented in Washington.
