TACO Spring Meeting Highlights Tips to Unlocking RV Park Profit Potential

At the Texas Association of Campground Owners' (TACO) Spring Meeting and Trade Show, industry experts shared tips on boosting revenue and cutting labor costs for RV parks and campgrounds. Kathleen Walsh of Advanced Outdoor Management highlighted the importance of choosing the right reservation software, which can impact revenue through features such as revenue management, real-time connectivity with Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), and efficient customer support. OTAs, like Booking.com and Airbnb, can help increase bookings by directing business to park operators' websites and reaching wider audiences, with fees only charged upon booking. Jayne Cohen of Campground Consulting Group LLC recommended upgrading select RV sites to high-end options with premium amenities, establishing guidelines for extended-stay guests, and catering to tent campers' needs for amenities like electrical connections and WiFi to drive store sales.

German Caravan Industry Records Robust Growth in Q1 2023

In an effort to boost the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the US, the Biden administration has unveiled a plan to install 500,000 charging stations across the country by 2030. To achieve this, the administration has set aside $15 billion from the recently approved $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which will be used to create a new grant and incentive program for state and local governments, and private companies to build these charging stations. The goal is to make EV charging as convenient as refueling at a gas station, promoting EV adoption and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with the administration's commitment to tackle climate change.
