RVTI Introduces RV Technician Training Program to US High Schools
The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) is introducing its RV technician training program to high schools across the US, in response to the growing demand for skilled technicians as more Americans plan RV trips. Last year, RVTI raised awareness about the industry at American School Counselor Association events, and now plans to integrate its training program into high school curricula. Participating students will have the opportunity to graduate as certified Level 1 RV technicians. RVTI has partnered with four high schools in Texas, Indiana, and Pennsylvania so far, and is training teachers to become certified RV technician instructors. The initiative aims to provide future job opportunities for students and offer dealerships an additional source of potential employees.

CalOHA Provides Update on California Advocacy Efforts that Might Impact Private Campgrounds
The California Outdoor Hospitality Association (CalOHA) has provided updates on advocacy efforts that could impact private campgrounds in the state. Among the bills discussed were AB 22, which would increase the width definition of "mobile homes" from 102 to 110 inches; AB 1472, which would amend the RV Park Occupancy Law in Imperial Beach and potentially expand to a statewide ordinance, with potential negative effects on RV parks offering extended stays; and SB 620, a bill introduced by Hipcamp aiming to establish a pathway for low-impact camping in rural areas, AG land, and private property, which is currently opposed by CalOHA and CalTravel. These updates underline CalOHA's efforts to regulate and manage private campgrounds while considering the well-being of California's outdoor hospitality industry.
Fiji’s Tourism Rebound Boosts Campgrounds and Outdoor Hospitality Industry
Fiji's tourism revenue recovery from Australia reached $505.4 million, benefiting not only the tourism sector but also campgrounds and the outdoor hospitality industry in the country. Fiji welcomed 94% of pre-pandemic Australian visitors in 2022, with Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka highlighting the significance of Australia as Fiji's largest market. Advance bookings for the next 12 months are up by more than 34.5% compared to 2019 figures, indicating a positive future for Fiji's tourism sector. The influx of Australian tourists positively impacts Fiji's campgrounds and outdoor hospitality industry, as more visitors seek unique outdoor experiences and eco-tourism offerings. The introduction of two new Airbus A350s in July and August offers the potential to provide more services and seats for travelers between Australia and Fiji.
