Mc Cloud - All Systems Go!

Mc Cloud - All Systems Go!

On August 7th, the Cabinet Office published the response to the consultation on the Regulations to implement the ‘Remedy’ process. So, this is the nuts and bolts on how people affected by the age discrimination pension Remedy will be given the choice of pension scheme for the period.

The CSPA has so far held two webinars with the Cabinet Office and submitted a written response.

Overall, the regulations provide a practical path to ensure all those affected have a chance to make a choice about their pension service during the Remedy period. People will be contacted individually from 1st October 2023, and the roll out could take 18 months so don’t worry if you don’t hear straight away.

You will be given a year to decide what to do and, whilst the CSPA cannot give financial advice, we would be happy to chat through your options if you are a member.

To make sure that the pension administrators have your up-to-date contact details, you are advised to contact MyCSP or use the online pension portal.

The CSPA plan to host more webinars later in the year, with our Cabinet Office colleagues, to help people during the process. The response can be found here:

No changes are planned to the draft Regulations as the responses received were broadly positive.
