I attended Money20/20 the world's biggest most influential gathering of the global money ecosystem.

If you wanted to know more about what's next in money - banking, payments, tech, startups, retail, fintech, financial services, policy - this is the expo that you needed to attend.

There is a global movement that is shaping the way that we experience, provide, and receive money. As a small business owner, it was important for me to learn ways in which we can enhance our systems and processes so that we are up-to-date and in compliance with the ways in which we interact with our clients and customers money.

In addition, learn ways in which we can grow our business by implementing new integrations and connect with key decision makers to form partnerships that our clients and customers can take advantage of and benefit from. Workshops and networking opportunities for me are essential when I attend any event.

Listen if you had questions about how to combine banking, branding, and investing in Fintech and to do so being mindful of risks and compliance, then this is the discussion that you needed to be in the room to hear.

Banking is changing. The expectation from financial institutions we know is different for each generation. Understanding how consumers and businesses are interacting and experiencing 'banking' is revolutionizing the ways in which FinTech is being introduced and integrated into banking solutions.

I recall trying to introduce my 80 something year old grandmother to digital banking, mobile banking, Zelle, and online bill pay. It was not an easy task. For someone whose interactions with the bank consisted of a day in which she took to go to the bank or a day in which she took to call the bank and go transaction by transaction the newer practices of banking that I am most familiar with was something that she just could not adapt to. She understands that she has to adapt to some changes, however, she needed to keep some of her banking practices so that she feels more in control.

For me, I need all that FinTech has to offer. Banks physical locations don't open until 9 am and then close at 5 pm. As a small business owner, I need banking solutions at all points of the day and night Sunday through Saturday. I need solutions for my business as well as solutions for my clients and customers towards my business without traditional 'bank' delays.

I like when I make a purchase having the option to donate the change to nonprofit organizations cause, invest my change towards a share/stock, or when there is an emergency being able to send or receive money right away. Without financial technologies we would only be able to 'bank' 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, until 1 pm on Saturday, and not at all on Sunday.

Understanding this, sitting through #Mbanqs panel discussion, and gaining insights that I could immediately add to my personal and business banking solutions as well as to my business as a whole was more than I expected. Understanding how to mitigate risk, the importance of adhering to compliance to ensure consumer safety, full disclosure practices, and to ensure that the financial technology being offered is adhering to federal guidelines and standards were just some of the things that I walked away from the discussion with.

@Mbanq provided an amazing discussion, followed by a beautiful evening of networking, that ended with an Italian dinner at a luxurious restaurant.
