An MBA Success Story: Diksha Bansal and her internship with Synergos Limited

How would you summarise your placement role?

I did my Internship at Synergos Limited which is a Busines IT Consultancy company and I worked as a Business Analyst. I worked closely with the CEO and supported evidence collection of Synergos Research & Development Tax credit claims. I supported corporate/Fortune Top 500 clients on their IT cost management and assisted Synergos executives with Trademarks, licensing, protection, and Copyrights of Intellectual Properties.

What has been your biggest achievement or source of pride of your placement so far?

My biggest achievement was that I have learnt skills which not only enhance my professional learning but also helped me on my personal levels. I have learnt Managerial, Problem solving, Team work, negotiation and many more but above and beyond I was able to develop my emotional intelligence in terms of culture and language barriers. I took pride in saying that I became very much independent and self-starter in every aspects of life. During my placement, I get to see London while achieving my goals. This placement made me so optimistic about my future.

What would you tell to other students who are not sure about doing a placement?

A placement year is a great opportunity for students to gain their skills, knowledge and confidence in the work place. It’s a stepping stone to an industry that could be very competitive. It’s not just a great experience for you but can lead to a tremendous opportunity for the future. To stand out in this rapid changing job market you have to be different. Not doing placement mean you are going to miss an opportunity which could take you to gain valuable experience. I get to learn multiple skills, built a lot of connections and brush up technical skills too. No experience ever gets wasted, whatever you learn you will definitely use it somewhere in your life.

Do you have any plans for the future?

With all my learning from MBA International Business, research and business acumen, I have recently started my online shoes store; Skypack World and have been trading across United Kingdom. I have been working on import/export between United Kingdom and Asia and have been utilising my digital marketing skills to scale up the business. I am now working on creating leads for my business and have been in talks with some big clients as well.
