May's Ruby Recruit Update
As I write this (1.15 pm on Monday) the brilliant Dr. Ashley Bloomfield has just announced for the first time in six weeks there are no new cases of Covid-19 on the 4th May, fantastic news!
Today we are taking the opportunity to tell you what we have been up to during lockdown at Ruby Recruit. Obviously and like many, our workload here at Ruby was impacted, nonetheless, what we saw were our roles shift from permanent hires to fixed-term and short-term contract opportunities. This provided us with a great opportunity to connect with much more Human Resources talent over the phone and Zoom, and have meaningful conversations about who they are, their strengths, motivations, and importantly their availability.
We all know these can be worrying times, more so than ever candidate care is, and should be the backbone of any good recruiters workload, and it is times like these that we should be mindful of the importance that each conversation is absolutely unique and personal to that individual. And when listening to people’s current situations and needs, we should also always be honest with our guidance on their place in the HR market, and the trends we are seeing. Our perceptions and how we see future recruitment trends can be valuable insights during any economic landscape, be it local or global.
So in a nutshell, the lockdown has provided us here at Ruby with the opportunity to get a really good handle on the current active talent in the market, and we think that those candidates with considerable skills and experience in change and ER might be the talent the market will turn to in the coming weeks and months.
