Mayflex aims for more AV business with new hire

Distributor Mayflex has appointed Simon Jacobs in the newly-created role as AV market manager. He will be responsible for developing and introducing a new range of AV products and accessories to add to the existing Mayflex product portfolio.

Andrew Percival, managing director of Mayflex, said: “We welcome Simon to our business, we believe that he is the perfect fit for this role, bringing with him over 20 years’ experience in the AV market.”

He said: “Simon will develop a product roadmap focused on growing our presence in the AV arena, he will also work closely with the leadership, sales and marketing teams to provide regular product training, develop both offline and online collateral, and support customers with product selection and system design.”

Jacobs added: “My experience and knowledge perfectly suit this role and I’m really excited to get to work with the existing teams to develop and launch a new product set, and then support the sales and marketing teams and partners to promote our offering.”

His arrival follows that of Andy Murray, who earlier this month joined the firm as infrastructure field sales account manager with responsibility for the M25 corridor in south-east England.

Murray previously worked for Comtec and TE Connectivity before that. Murray said: “After being furloughed in my previous position for five months and subsequently made redundant, I’m itching to get back out in the market and do what I do best, win business and help my customers to deliver their projects on time.”
