In the News

?? An apple a day keeps Elon away?

Elon Musk, in a move that surprised exactly no one familiar with his online persona, threw a bit of a tantrum after Apple announced a partnership with his rival AI company. Threatening to make his employees ditch their iPhones and MacBooks like yesterday's smartphones, Musk claims Apple's plan is a security nightmare, despite Apple assuring everyone they're being super careful with user data. Whether this is a genuine concern or just sour grapes from a competitor losing a big contract remains to be seen.

??? Dreaming of AI video solutions

A new AI startup called Luma AI just launched a tool called Dream Machine that can turn your wildest video ideas into reality (well, a five-second reality) just by describing them in text. Unlike some other similar AI tools, this one is completely free and open to anyone to play around with. While Dream Machine might not win a film festival award for best cinematography yet, it's faster than competitors and focuses on creating photorealistic videos, making it a great option for creators who need to quickly bring their ideas to life. You can give it a whirl (yes, for free) by clicking here.

?? Prosthetics, finally in our grasp

BBC Click shines a light on a groundbreaking bionic arm developed by Atom Limbs. This prosthetic arm utilizes artificial intelligence to interpret electrical signals from the user's brain, allowing for natural and intuitive control that mimics human motion. The progress made in prosthetics is nothing short of amazing, having evolved from basic tools to sophisticated machines that even provide a sense of touch. However, despite the promise Atom Limbs' technology holds, there are challenges to overcome. Affordability is a major concern, as many advanced prosthetics remain financially out of reach for a large portion of the disabled community. While still under development, the Atom Limbs bionic arm has the potential to revolutionize the lives of those with limb loss, but ensuring affordability and user-centered development will be crucial in making this technology a reality.

How to: AI Research Assistant

Ever wish you had an on-demand research assistant? Stop wishing and start learning. This?video tutorial?shows how to build a personal AI research assistant using no-code automation (Make.com) and an AI language model (Perplexity). Perplexity scours the web based on your prompts, and Make.com automates the process. You can schedule these automated searches to receive regular updates on your chosen topic. The video even provides access to the entire setup for easy replication, making it a valuable tool for students, content creators, or anyone who wants to stay informed.

What’s new?

Native Word Integration!

If you read last week's newsletter, you have doubtless been waiting with bated breath to learn about what we were teasing with the "powerful new integration." Well, since we are terrible at building up suspense, you can see what it is simply by reading the header to this section. :-)

?

Our native MS Word integration brings the power of the Vendorful AI Assistant right into the MS Word application. You can easily identify questions from your documents, send them to Vendorful to get answered, and then insert the answer directly into the document without ever opening your web browser. The MS Word integration also allows for the preservation of formatting in the document, whether there are tables, specific font choices, or anything else. You can learn how to install it?here.

Threaded Comments

As the Vendorful AI Assistant continues to evolve, our team has made a concerted effort to improve the collaboration capabilities. In past newsletters, we've shared information about features like assigning questions/answers, approving them, tracking user-generated answer history, and more. All of those were collaborative in some way, but none really allowed people to work together to craft an answer. Now, with the introduction of threaded comments, users can truly collaborate on this. For more information on how to take advantage of this new feature, read our documentation.
