May’23 Wrap: Work-Life Balance & The Cost of Peace

According to Deloitte’s recent GenMZ survey, it came out that nearly 50% of GenZ have side jobs.

FYI: Gen Zs are people who were born between the late 1990s and the early 2010s, while Gen Millennials are those born in the 1980s or 1990s.

Combined, they can be mentioned as GenMZ.

You can read more about this worldwide survey in this report by The Economic Times:

It is of no shock to you all that work-life balance has been highly tortured, crumpled, harassed and almost beaten down to death.

So much that now we have accepted to spoil our personal lives, our loved ones in the name of work - by default.

Have you ever wondered what the reason is?

No, the only reason cannot be the other person who is around you.

In my opinion, it highlights one big truth - who pays you to survive?

You are first loyal to who pays you to live, and once you realize it is not your family members alone - there begins the division

Moreover, what on earth is the term Work-Life?

Is Work also not a part of Life?

Is it something outside your LIFE? Your biology, the earth, the ecosystem?

Your body has LIFE and therefore you go to the office, as you go to the washroom.

Does a plant need work-life balance to survive?

Does this mean that all the friendships we made in school and college were actually part of Work?

Because we went to school and college for studies and eventually... to get work.

So was our childhood a myth?

Therefore the question arises what actually is life?

If not school, college, and work?

A monkey thinks as a human thinks.

In the month of May, I did 4 major things

1. Woke up at 5 am to meditate and exercise daily

2. Let go of my toxic extended families and stopped fighting their conspiracies

3. Started Career Counselling students

4. Started writing my first book in Sanskrit (trying)

Although these may or may not sound exciting to you, here is an insight

I discovered there is no Work+Life. Everything is mixed.

Either it is Work or it is Life.

A family requires work too

This is the cost of your inner peace.

In fact, Life itself is a Work. Living in its own fancies is a Task.

From keeping our loved ones happy - to keeping ourselves happy.

From keeping up with social stands - to keeping up with work commitments.

From taking care of health - to taking care of housing, electricity, and maintenance.

Dear you, here’s your takeaway from the newsletter…

Life is Work. There are no two entities.

The faster you drop the burden of pleasing people, fooling yourself thinking family is something other than offices, the better.

Have a wholesome approach, everything is work. Everything is duty.

You either do it or die. If you can't die, do it.

There is no escape. Life is work. Be one-minded. Make it simpler.

Therefore, when GenZ does side jobs, it's a positive side, in my opinion, they have realized that everything else is fake.

You earn, you eat, you die. No ethical drama.

Under the burden of modernity and tech advancements… the fact is - we simply want peace.

Hope you make your June simpler & easier.

Thank you. See you after 29 days.
