Is May your time to flourish ???

Do you find that your days are filled with busyness and rush, trying to cram in everything you need to do yet have sufficient time to do each thing well?? I know I feel like that sometimes. I find it valuable to make a miini-moment to just reset myself and do something that brings a burst of joy and positive emotion. That sets me up to then refocus, prioiritise and be more effective.

Some of my favourite mini-moment resets are:

1) Take the 'tourist route' from the car to the front door - stop and admire how much the garden is simply flourishing just now. With the warmer weather (and now it's finally stopped raining this Spring) all the plants are bursting forth with lush, verdant greens and splashes of vibrant colours - beautiful bulbs like this glorious tulip, the grape hyacinths that are colonising everywhere, bluebells starting to open up, the heathers battling for space with the bulbs, roses starting to produce buds with a promise of colour later on. Drinking in all this beauty brings a smile to my face, and a peace and calm over my body that helps me refocus and feel less 'busy'. It only takes a moment.

Have you noticed how much nature has flourished in the last few weeks?? How can you use this as a reminder to support yourself to flourish?

2) Sit up straight at the computer and roll my shoulders back and around for a few times.? I discover how much tension I was holding that I was totally unaware of, and how much better it feels to let that tension go.

3) Make time to catch up with a friend - ok, this does takes more than a mini moment ??.? However. the mini-moments are when I make space to think about it (and smile) and send a message so we can arrange a time that works for both of us to catch up.? Maybe a phone or video call keeping up with friends and family spread around the world, and meeting local friends in person.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the 13 to 19 May is Mental Health Awareness Week. I'm delivering a couple of walking events on 14th and 16th May - where we walk through the lovely grounds, enjoying the variation of formal lawns, flowering rhodedendrons (so beautiful in the garden though devastating when they escape into the wild as they take over our natural flora), the quiet and cooler path through the woods and the joy of watching the swans and ducks on the lake. All the while exploring topics around confidence and personal presence. I'm really looking forward to running these again this year, and fingers crossed for dry weather and hoping for sunshine too.?

How often do you take your meetings outdoors?? There's substantial research showing that it can add a real depth to conversations and new insights when we take our meetings into a different context and especially being out in nature.? I love doing the walking events and also 121 coaching outdoors in nature.

What are your favourite mini-moments? What meetings are you taking outdoors or into a different environment this month? I'd love to hear about what works for you - pleae do add into the comments.

All best

Sue
