It May Not be the Thing You Used to Do. . . But do Something!

Use different muscles to reach out to clients (If the gym is closed we need to work out with different methodology)
In these unsettling times, we need to make sure we remember to connect with our clients/and in some cases prospects. It is tempting (and natural, I suppose) to want to hunker down and ride out the 'storm'. Instead, think about how you can add value and support to your client base. How can you check in with your customers and let them know that you are thinking about them and their needs? (which is what all sales people are supposed to do in business) Are there ways to 'touch' them in a meaningful way that helps you stay top of mind?
As most people are or will be working from home, it may be difficult to drop off something but you can always use the mail. The mail delivery folks will continue to deliver mail and perhaps you can communicate in some new way.
One friend of mine works in the health care industry and can't enter those kinds of facilities now, so she is dropping off box lunches at the front door. She went so far as to get everyone's orders (She was insightful enough to get their cell phone numbers long ago so she can text). So each contact of hers in the building will get their specific lunch. Do you think they will remember her-- You bet!!
Are your clients going to be home with their kids or perhaps already are: could you drop off (or send) crayons and coloring books or games with a hand written note?
This is not a time to check out but check in with your clients and see how they are doing and how you can add value to their lives now- not just when things are good!
Here are some ideas on how to connect and sell differently:
- Phone call
- Mail promo product
- Use LinkedIn
- Schedule a Video chat
- Send a Demo for one of your products/solutions
- Get on a Conference call
- Email a White paper or series
- Put Coffee card in the mail
- Electronically send a gift card
- Drop off a gift (if appropriate)
- Send gift cards for CPK( in 30 states) or an Amazon electronic gift card
- 15,149 Starbucks nationwide
- Send an eGift or pick one up at a participating Starbucks? store. . .
- Starbucks Now Allows You to Send Gift Cards Through iMessage So You Can Text Your Friend an Actual Cup of Coffee. Once the voucher is in your message app, you can choose to either use it straight from that app, or import it into your Starbucks app for later use.
If you would like to schedule a complementary call to brainstorm or see how I can be of help, please email me [email protected]. Looking forward to connecting and keeping our clients top of mind so we can still be top of mind when the dust settles!!
