May sweet May

May was a much-needed month for us in SKADE as many tournaments were running early stages and we were invited directly to the later stages. Meaning we had a lot fewer matches this month than we normally do. So that allowed for us in management to finally catch up on a few things, bring in new crew and close out some partnerships.
So, what was May actually like for us in SKADE?
Fan Engagement
With more time to focus on what actually matters to us, our fans, and the people we engage with. We came up with tons of ideas for the time to come and people can expect to see new content popping up all over the place. One important part of what is to come is a new partnership with one of the biggest tournament platforms there is Challengermode. Together we Challengermode we now have our own landing page on their platform where we will start hosting community and fan driven tournaments. This is also a big part of our future plans for expansion into new game titles. With almost half the tournament/match activity of a normal month we still managed to reach our social media goals and the growth of 2021 continues!!
Esports
Did I mention we had fewer matches? Well, we had some BIG ones!!! In CS:GO we had another amazing run, the PUBG squad showed what they were made of and in COD Mobile the qualifiers for COD Worlds are live!
We started the CS:GO month with winning another tournament as we were crowned the champions of European Development Championship #3 on May 2nd!! We continued the month with taking down some of the biggest names in Europe. On May 17th we hit a new ALL TIME HIGH as we were placed at rank #18 in the world by HLTV.
Our PUBG squad was ready to show what they were made of as the qualifier for this years first Major came to and end. They secured a really solid 3rd place finish in the EU qualifier and with that their spot in the PUBG Continental Series #4!! Oh, and they are currently sitting in 2nd place in Frag League Season 6 as well!! June will be packed with action on the highest level there is for these guys!
The COD squad is pretty much destroying anything that gets in their way these days! With a 38 – 12 match records in May where they won two tournaments, finished 2nd in two AND made a clean sweep in the first round of the qualifier for COD World Championships, we are all left in awe!! The mobile esports scene is blowing up and Call of Duty will surely be a main title there for years to come. We are proud to be a part of this journey and we can’t wait to see what’s to come next.
SKADE
With last month being huge for us as we were able to bring in four new staff members, May was looking great even before it started! With the addition of new staff we were able to take our administrative work to a whole new level. New partnerships that will be announced in short succession have already been made. New strategic plans have been set into motion and we are making moves that we hope can elevate Norwegian e-sports to the next level!
With new staff in place, I have also been able to tune my focus back to where I have my main skills. The esports side of operations and I am already cooking together plans for our next moves AND getting ready to take our current activities to a new level.
“Time is a luxury in any startup and with new co-workers in place I am finally able to use my time in a more effective way. With a bigger team comes more motivation, more energy and capability to activate more plans. Our team is bursting with energy now and there is no stopping this train now! We are our for new prey and the hunt has just started!!” – CEO, Kim-Erik Aanes
