Last month has brought new jobs for 6 of my clients – 3 in the US, 1 in Canada, 1 in Germany and 1 in Switzerland! Well done, everybody! It seems that all my clients in April were determined to resign from their jobs. I worked mainly with senior professionals and executives who wanted a change – in compensation, industry, or both.
The European (and the US) labour market is still hot as everyone has become more aware of their work/life balance in the past few years and has had plenty of time to reflect on their choices. We saw a literal exodus from the education sector during this time too.
But with the rising inflation, higher living costs, many recent massive layoffs, and recession talks, it seems uncertain if the hot market trend will continue for much longer. My opinion is - as long as the unemployment rate is at historically low levels, I would expect the job market to remain quite dynamic, at least in the next 6 months.
Are you thinking about changing your job? Well, it’s certainly a good market for it. The number of business and professional job openings is at a record high. But, before you do, make sure you are well prepared for your job search journey. Message me if you need any professional assistance about it.

2 年Remember: The first and vital thing to do in your job search is to decide what you want to do next. Are you keeping your current career path or not? If not, what industry do you want to enter? And most importantly, what position you will pursue? Think about the exact job title. It will make your job search far more targeted. People who skip these first steps struggle longer to re-enter the job market. That’s my experience so far.
