Night of Hope Weekend: A Huge Success for the CarsonStrong Foundation
The Night of Hope weekend was a huge success, and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of our supporters. We would like to thank everyone who attended the gala or concert and those who supported us from afar.
The gala was filled with glamour and fun, and guests had a great time. The night included a silent auction, professional photos by Jess Fishel Photography, tasty food and drinks, and live music by Ace Molar.
The following night, Lou Gramm and his All-Star Band rocked the house at the Goodyear Theater, and crowds of people showed up to see them perform. Lou Gramm, the Original Voice of Foreigner, was recently nominated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band and showed us why he deserved the nomination!
Thanks to your generous contributions, the CarsonStrong Foundation raised over $300k for the Gift of Time Together program. With this, 100 families affected by cancer can spend quality time together. Together we can make a real difference.
Andrew's Inspiring Story: Battling Cancer and Fulfilling His Dreams through the Gift of Time Together
Andrew, an 8-year-old boy diagnosed with Glioma and B-Cell Lymphoma, aspired to become a United States Marine. CarsonStrong Foundation gifted Andrew and his family a weekend trip to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.?CarsonStrong also arranged a special tour where they were introduced to Lieutenant Colonel John Whitney of the Ohio Army National Guard. Andrew and his family were given a once-in-a-lifetime experience where they were able to board different military aircraft, including the Chinook, black hawk, and more. Andrew was dressed in military gear and taken on a helicopter for a 40-minute tour of the Greater Akron Area.?
The pilots even gave Andrew a challenge coin, which holds a deep meaning in the military and first responder community. Andrew designed his own coin and CarsonStrong had them made by a challenge coin maker. John and Debbie Higgins delivered the coins along with a message from Kyle Carpenter, a retired Marine and a Medal of Honor recipient.
Who We Are
Founded in 2017, the CarsonStrong Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children and families impacted by cancer and other significant life challenges.
Carson Gene Higgins courageously faced neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer that affects the body’s nervous system. While Carson’s life was short, it was rich with faith, hope, love, and strength. His examples of kindness and generosity encourage us to live and love richly, to take each day as a gift, and to give generously.
Together, we can bring hope to other families facing difficult and sometimes devastating life challenges.
