May Newsletter

Dear Subscriber,

We hope this edition of the newsletter finds you well. It has been an unbelievable month here at WWPIS with a whole host of new projects underway as well as some major announcements.

The biggest announcement is that we are now part of the ‘Premier League Lifeskills Programme’ which will allow us to continue to develop our work further across the footballing landscape. We visited a number of Premier League clubs this month and with lots of interest we now have a number of dates in the diary.

We visited three gymnastics clubs over the last few weeks in Pipers Vale, Norfolk Gymnastics Academy and Warrington Gymnastics. It is always great to meet new people, see the fantastic work going on in many environments and look to add further value where we can. A large number of gymnastics clubs are now signed up to annual memberships to include live days of workshops and access to a customised WWPIS platform. The feedback has been incredibly positive.

The IT team have been incredibly busy building customised platforms for these clubs and a number of National Governing Bodies, further announcements to follow on this in due course.

We continue to work closely with Leinster Rugby and Ulster Hockey who have been partners for a number of years. This next 12 months will see a change in direction however as we look to start a programme in the performance pathways.

The Parents in Sport podcast this month saw us joined by Australian Institute of Sport Athlete Development Lead Graham Turner. We discussed his book, ‘The Young Athletes Perspective,’ which opened up an enlightening conversation to support sports parents, coaches and anyone working around young people.

You can find out more about all of these items in this month’s newsletter.

TOTTENHAM, WATFORD AND NORWICH CITY VISITS

As part of the ‘Premier League Lifeskills Programme’ we recently visited Tottenham Hotspur, Norwich City and Watford delivering sessions for academy staff and parents.

Feedback was incredibly positive from both staff and parents and we look forward to visiting these clubs again next season to continue the positive work that we have started.

Being part of this programme will allow us to extend our work across the footballing landscape. Over the last three seasons we have visited over 60 clubs across the Premier League and Football League to deliver sessions.

GYMNASTICS CLUB VISITS

We travelled the length and breadth of the country this month with our gymnastics work visiting Pipers Vale, Norfolk Gymnastics Academy and Warrington Gymnastics to deliver sessions for club management, coaches, parents and gymnasts.

The sessions across all the different stakeholders offer up so many different perspectives and information and it is a privilege to then be able to use this to develop the most impactful sessions possible whilst also working within the contexts of each environment. Whilst there may be some common themes every club is different.

CUSTOMISED WEBSITE PLATFORMS

Alongside our live and virtual sessions we are seeing an increased demand for customised WWPIS platforms.

We have just finished designing platforms for Gymnastics Canada, Netball Scotland, Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club, Warrington Gymnastics, GB Climbing and Badminton England.

This month saw us add more exclusive content for our membership including, ‘Empowering Young Athletes: Navigating Financial Success with a Spending Plan’ and ‘Five Common Nutritional Myths : Debunked’ from some of our expert contributors.

These platforms give organisations the opportunity to resource entire communities in a cost effective, sustainable way. Many organisations use the content within their own social media channels, team and parent meetings and regular newsletters to help support those within their communities.

The added bonus is that organisations are also able to add some of their own content to the platform, which certainly helps in bringing it all to life.?

If you would like to find out more about customised platforms then email us at [email protected] .

ULSTER HOCKEY WORK

Working with Parents in Sport and Ulster Hockey have teamed up to deliver a leading programme of support to all parents within the Ulster Hockey Performance Pathway.

The new programme will start this month, and it is hoped that this will be an annual programme for parents as they go through the pathway helping equip them to support their young people through the experience.

During the different stages of the pathway parents will be given access to six virtual sessions covering a myriad of different topics.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPS

It is great to have onboard a large number of annual members here at WWPIS and we have been tasked with creating badges for organisations to put on their own websites/platforms to show our working partnership together.

This model has proved hugely successful across the world in 2023 for National Governing Bodies, Sporting Organisations, Clubs and Schools.

The benefits of an Annual Membership include ongoing consultancy and an opportunity to really embed continued support within existing programmes as opposed to one hit wonders which we know don't always have the greatest impact.

Annual Membership also includes discounted rates for access to the WWPIS platform and all of our resources which can also act as a revenue stream for organisations.

The most important benefit of an Annual Membership is that it will give you priority on securing dates for live workshops and webinars. WWPIS has become a world leading brand in this space and securing dates and times to suit is becoming more of a challenge and we never want to let people down.

If you would like to discuss options that may be available to you or would like to set up an annual membership then please email me personally at [email protected] .
