May God helps us, May God give us a COUNTRY

The other day, I was sitting in the garden in my home, I was exhausted after working for two hours in cleaning it. It was not a regular activity for me, I decided to do so in an attempt to flush all the horrible feelings, news, and pictures that I have seen after the catastrophic event that hit Beirut!!!

I was alone when my thoughts started to build some kind of conversation to reach a logical roadmap of what I am going to do.

I have a great family, a decent job, and a good profile, I have well-established life in my country; “Is your family happy? Does your job have a clear career path? Are you satisfied with yourself?” Those questions seemed to be coming from an inner concerned voice. To think about it, I started to think of the situation in Lebanon. I did see so many wars, a lot of hatred, people are killing themselves for others! Do not understand me wrong, it is not like they are making this to defend their beloved or their country, they are doing it just for OTHERS. Do not go there yet, I have friends from all religions, childhood friends, colleagues, partners, and all sort of productive relationships. Not once, I was stuck in a conversation where all those things that we see and hear about parties or religious conflict were present. How we can live in another realm in the same country peacefully!! It is what it is, it is bein there since I was born, no real vision, not once we felt we can make a change. What about the revolution? What about it, where is it? It was easily killed before it made any change, or give any kind of hope!! Nothing is easy, look at the people after the disaster, how they rush and help each other…These are the citizens of our country, but where is the country?? All your friends and family called to check on you, you were worried about others! OK, is this a life??? I do travel, see the Lebanese people building countries, have excellent positions, making the change in other countries!! What about our own, why we were not given this chance?? My kids are asking me questions that I no longer have answers for, they are starting to realize the facts, do you want them to know? Of course not, why should I put them in the same ugly situations that I still think of. Didn’t you see the movies of all the people who were killed, injured, who became homeless in a couple of minutes, listen to them, what do you feel?? Stop !! this is so shameful, all countries rushed to help us, why? Why now? We have been under hurricanes before, does it need a nuclear explosion for this to happen. Ask those in the videos, are you happy now, all the world are feeling bad for us, how this is going to help them is they have lost a beloved! I am grateful for all the people who are helping us, but it heartbreaking to be in the middle!!! May God helps us, May God give us a COUNTRY!!!

I guess all of us are living in the same dilemma. Do we want our children to witness this? Or do they deserve a better choice? Security and safety are crucial to build good future.

It’s so thoughtful yet painful. Unfortunately, it seems that our Lebanon is bound to this perilous inevitable destiny. Keeping up the hope is the best we can do for ourselves and our children!

Dear Ziad, your touching words are the natural thinking of any citizen that respects his country, but where is respect, loyalty, pertinence and belonging? Are they still exist? In my opinion, a country (that is our lovely Lebanon) has become a moral entity existing in our souls and thoughts, physically dominated by a group of hypocrites who reduced the concept of a country to their kingdoms where we will never belong. As for us, we will always be Lebanese with pride, succeeding in any other country but ours unfortunately. May Allah bless you and keep you safe with your family.

So touching post... Thanks Ziad Shaaban In my opinion, We have a great country but we don't have citizen neither government or regime. Personally I feel we need miracle to have people loving Lebanon taking control of the country. Is it going to be possible while we are still alive ??? I really doubt ??♂? we just need to have normal life. We need to live
