A May Full of Momentum
2023 is an important year across 通用汽车 as we advance our EV, AV and software strategies. The investments we’ve made since outlining our plans for our all-electric, technology-driven future have laid a solid foundation – and now we are in execution and scaling mode.
Our team was especially busy in May, and I want to share a few recent milestones that illustrate our progress:
We have strategically aligned our leadership and business to support our?transformation and growth.
GM’s leadership team combines decades of experience in designing and building high-quality vehicles that customers love, with expertise on software, customer experience and digital trends from the world’s largest technology companies. This month we welcomed michael abbott ?as our head of software and announced the promotion of Rory Harvey to executive vice president and president of North America.?
Finally, bringing everybody in on the all-electric future includes supporting our fleet and commercial customers in the transition. Our recent launch of GM Envolve ?leverages the full power and assets of General Motors to understand and solve for their unique business needs, whether it’s EVs or energy storage, to provide seamless solutions that put them at the center of everything we do.
Our investment in the Ultium Platform continues to pay off.
Our Ultium battery platform is the heart of our EV lineup. Ultium enables tremendous performance, flexibility and scale, offering our customers a range of exciting EVs across brands, price points and segments.?
Earlier this month, we?announced?the? Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Truck will launch with an impressive?EPA-estimated?range of 450 miles. Building on our decades of industry-leading truck design, engineering and customer loyalty, the Silverado EV WT is truly a truck with no compromises.?
There is also more to come for Cadillac as?we will reveal?the all-electric?ESCALADE?IQ?later this year.?This is yet another significant milestone, as the Escalade is one of General Motors’ most iconic vehicles.?
We continue to demonstrate that the AV future is here, today.
More people are experiencing #AVs, as Cruise expands to more cities. Kyle Vogt , CEO, CTO, President, and Co-founder of Cruise?recently announced Cruise’s expansion?to Houston and Dallas, building on its operations in San Francisco, Austin and Phoenix. And, just last week, Cruise celebrated?2 million driverless miles. The team is accomplishing milestone after milestone, and I couldn’t be prouder of them for innovating with safety, speed and agility.?
As we pave the way to an all-electric, technology-driven future, every milestone reflects the shared determination and talent of the GM team. Together, we are focused on the destination – a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion – and we’re doing everything it takes to get there.??
