Flutter’s Community had multiple news and events in May, and here – in Somnio in the Loop – we intend to keep you up-to-date every month. Let’s dive right in!?
#Flutter 3.10 was launched during the Google IO conference, with improved performance and many new features to try out. Some of them were:
- Better support for machine learning and AI??
- New widgets for building responsive layouts
- Camera X support on Android
- Support for augmented reality
- Accessibility features for an inclusive user experience
- Impeller has a new animation library for building apps
#Dart 3 was also released, full of upgrades and better features, such as:?
- Improved tooling and new language features
- Null safety by default
- New libraries to facilitate the app development process
- The new Google Mobile Ads Flutter plugin was announced, enabling you to place ads such as AdMob, AdSense, or Google Ad Manager on your Flutter apps.?

Tim Sneath
announced his departure from Flutter, so he will no longer be the Director of Product and UX for Flutter & Dart. However, he certainly will be remembered by the entire Flutter community for his dedication and effort in growing the technology and the community of talented developers around it. Thank you Tim for all these years! Here you can read the blog post he wrote bidding farewell.

Fluttercon
, one of the biggest Flutter events, is just around the corner and many speakers were announced, you can check them out here. Gianfranco Papa, our CTO, will be speaking at the event about “Powering your Flutter Apps with gRPC”.?
- Flutter and Firebase communities join in to host a “Flutter Firebase Festival” in Prague on September (26-27). An event to share the latest techniques and trends in app development, check it out here.??
Somnio News ??
- Google I/O, the most prominent

conference, was held this month! At the Somnio House, we watched it with the team and were amazed by all the news and updates of Flutter’s technology and the AI launches. We even made a Somnio in the Loop special edition to share the main news about Flutter announced during the event, you can check it out here.

Mobius — mobile development conference
talking about “Going Full Stack with Dart”. Congrats Gian for another great talk!
- Part of the team went karting and had an amazing time! The race winners even had prizes to motivate them during the race ???
