Training now available from Safehands Recruitment

We are delighted to welcome Gary McCarthy, our new Internal Trainer to the Safehands team.

Gary has worked in healthcare for over 38 years, starting as a dedicated caregiver and progressing to a manager and teacher. With 16 years of experience as a certified educator, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his role and delivers over 20 courses through Safehands.

Alongside training our workers, we are pleased to offer accredited training courses externally for our clients on a half and full day basis.

Welcoming new members to our Cardiff branch!

We are delighted to welcome two new faces to our Cardiff branch.

Katie Wright (centre) joins us as Branch Manager and has a wealth of previous healthcare recruitment experience.

Klaudija Terzic (left) worked as a Maths teacher for 17 years before working with the police. She now provides an exceptional service to our workers, helping them secure new roles.

Spotlight on our Staffordshire branch

This month we caught up with our Senior Recruitment Consultant Jess Davies to learn a little more about the Staffordshire branch.

SH: What are the main care establishments that your branch covers?

JD: We cover all sectors of care, including a large range of Learning Disabilities services.

SH: What roles are you currently recruiting for?

JD: Currently we are only recruiting HCA and Support Workers who can drive to help support the more remote areas of Staffordshire.

SH: Who is in the team and what geographical and care sectors do they cover?

JD: I’m a Senior Recruitment Consultant and I cover all areas of Staffordshire and all sectors alongside Kealan Gosney who is a Recruitment Consultant also. Natalie Chard is our Senior Recruitment Compliance Officer and she makes sure we are compliant for all audits. And of course our manager Faye Brain !

SH: Tell us some interesting facts about the team!

JD: Kealan competes in charity MMA cage fights and he will be fighting this year to raise money for a collection of children’s charities. I was on a dance show called Got to Dance in 2008 and I met Ashley Banjo and Davina McCall. Natalie has jumped out of an aeroplane!

SH: Why do you work well together?

JD: we have great communication, and all have set jobs we need to do which makes working efficiently easier, we all muck in together when needed and support each other.

SH: What office traditions do you have?

We love getting a payday takeaways, plus birthday celebrations & office bake offs!
