The May 2024 Payroll and Reward Brunch

Although a General Election is weeks away, the uppermost obligations in our profession are to pay people on time, accurately and compliantly.? These obligations carry on regardless of anything happening in the personal or political arena (and we can look forward to plenty of that!).??

So, whilst we must maintain our own sanity, we must always keep an eye out for what is happening in Westminster and the devolved nations.? That applies to issues both now and those that are on the horizon.

Thankfully, Buddy HR are the hosts of the monthly Payroll and Reward Brunch and my aim is to bring you the information you need to be able to fulfil the above obligations.?

On Thursday 30 May 2024 at 11 am, I will follow my tried-and-tested format of imparting information to payroll and reward professionals, including the following topics:?

  • The payroll and reward implications of the General Election, for example, what has and has not completed its legislative passage in the now closed UK Parliament
  • News you should be aware of
  • The Ministry of Defence and Morrisons payroll data breaches and how these have raised awareness of how much personal data we have and how we need to ensure our own systems and processes are secure
  • Discussing the requirement to complete a 2023/24 Self-Assessment tax return – which is not the same as 2022/23 and will change again in 2024/25
  • Outlining upcoming employment and working time changes, and
  • The long-awaited agent ability to register clients for the payrolling of benefits and expenses.? Be careful!

?This is all in the pursuit of ensuing that we remain current to be relevant but also need to future-focused, the whole ethos of the Payroll and Reward Brunch, hosted again by BuddyHR.
