May 2024: Innovation

May 2024: Innovation

Introduction

In this article, I’ll be detailing my progress on the tasks I set for myself for May.

1. Offline Event for School?Students

In May, we organized our first offline event for school students. We tested the Math and English skills of 110 students from 10th and 11th grade. After the exams, we introduced our team, Kompas , and explained our mission to help students with their academic and career goals.

We concluded the event with a Q&A session where students could ask about studying and living in Uzbekistan and abroad. We then posted the exam results in our Telegram channel for everyone’s reference. You can also check out a video from the day on our Instagram profile. This event was a great step forward in supporting students in their educational journey.

2. Personal?Project

Hacknovation 2024 at Amity University Tashkent?—?May 18–19, 2024

Our team, Hacknovators, secured 4th place out of 101 teams at the “Hacknovation 2024” hackathon at Amity University Tashkent organized in partnership with the IT Community of Uzbekistan on May 18–19!

We developed “JoyBormi,” an innovative platform designed to streamline the booking process for various establishments, including restaurants, game clubs, barber shops, banks, and hospitals.

The event started with 101 teams from all over the country. After intense competition, 55 teams proceeded to the second day, where we presented our prototypes. We were thrilled to be among the top 10 teams to make it to the final pitch and ultimately secured 4th place!

A rollercoaster of emotions and a fantastic experience. You can catch a glimpse of our hackathon journey on my Instagram profile, and watch the full event on Amity University Tashkent’s YouTube channel.

Our team: Sam Abdullaev, Komron Abdulloev??, Sanjar Mashakirov, Bilol Tech, Aziza Sakhibova

3. My LeetCode?Journey

My LeetCode Profile Stats?—?May 2024

In May, I tackled daily challenges on LeetCode, solving problems every day. These problems covered various topics like strings, linked lists, binary trees, and more. It was a great way to learn and practice different concepts regularly.

4. SWE?Articles

This month, I continued reading more articles on Medium to enhance my Software Engineering skills and land an internship at Google. Here are 3 crucial tips related to the interview process that stood out to me:

  1. Clearly understand the task: Restate the question in your own words and provide a brief example with the expected output.
  2. Explain your thoughts out loud: Share your solution ideas and explain your code as you work, even if it doesn’t sound perfect to you.
  3. Ask for help: Don’t hesitate to ask the interviewer for hints if you get stuck, as they are usually kind and happy to point you in the right direction if needed.

5. My May Medium?Article

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to publish any articles on Medium this month. Please stay tuned for updates on my upcoming articles. Meanwhile, you can read about my participation in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Community Day event.

This month, I had an amazing time at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Community Day in Tashkent! The event was packed with insightful sessions, engaging activities, and a fantastic community spirit. One of the highlights was participating in a “Quest” where we completed 7 tasks to earn a special AWS T-shirt. We also visited various community stands, exchanged ideas, participated in a word-finding game, and collected lots of swag including T-shirts, notebooks, and stickers.

The day was well-organized with free lunch and snacks provided throughout, and the sessions covered a wide range of topics, including AI, machine learning, and DevOps, led by industry professionals. It was inspiring to connect with developers and industry professionals, and the vibrant atmosphere made the day even more memorable. You can check out the event video on my Instagram profile!

Thanks to everyone who made this event possible?—?I’m already looking forward to the next #awscommunityday!

Conclusion

In conclusion, May has been filled with valuable learning experiences.
