May 2023 CFO Business Sentiment Index

Executives’ confidence slipped in the latest CFO Business Sentiment Index, with one-third of respondents seeing a pullback in the national economy, compared to 7% who forecast negative activity last month, and no executives seeing a pullback in March. More CFOs also saw a slowdown in their own industry’s activity, with 17% pointing to a downturn, more than double last month’s 7%. A significant number of executives are still upbeat about their own vertical, however, with 44% anticipating growth, up from 43% last month. READ MORE
