maxon heads to Machine Building Live and the Engineering Design Show
maxon UK & Ireland is heading to Machine Building Live as well as the Engineering Design Show (EDS) taking place in October.
First up, maxon will present its DC motor technology at Machine Building Live, Stand 34, at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham, on Wednesday 2 October.
The company’s engineers will demonstrate DC and brushless DC (BLDC) motors, as well as complete precision drive systems. maxon will also discuss its specialisation in custom development for machine builders.
“Machine building is a traditional focus for maxon and the development of our precision drive system technology has enabled machine builders around the world to enhance the productivity and performance of their machines,” says William Mason , maxon UK & Ireland’s Managing Director. “Machine Building Live is an interesting event to meet design engineers, learn about their needs in machine motion, and advise on the drive system specification that answers their requirements.”
You can find out more about Machine Building Live here.
The following week, maxon UK & Ireland will exhibit at the Engineering Design Show, 9-10 October, Coventry Building Society Arena, on Stand G55.
maxon will present precision drive systems for design engineers focussed on mechanical, electronic, and embedded design, covering applications ranging from human prosthetics to satellite technology.
maxon brand Parvalux Electric Motors will also present alongside on Stand G55, discussing applications with higher power requirements such as door automation and stairlifts.

How are DC motors supporting Agriculture 4.0?
Farms are tasked with increasing productivity and efficiency, but they also need to meet evolving government policy and sustainability requirements, all while maintaining high quality.
To respond to these demands, Agriculture 4.0 represents the integration of modern technologies, where the use of robotics and automated techniques, managed and monitored via cloud computing with real-time data, is starting to emerge.
Central to these technology advances, and a fundamental cog in Agriculture 4.0, is the DC motor, enabling precise motion, alongside compact dimensions and low maintenance. From agribots, to drones, to automated techniques in vertical farming, the introduction of Agriculture 4.0, powered largely by DC motors, could be the next revolution in the sector.
maxon’s sales engineer for Ireland, Martin Leahy , combines his knowledge of DC motor technology and farming to explain where the agricultural industry is heading.

Successful med tech show for maxon in Ireland
maxon UK & Ireland has attended Medical Technology Ireland , taking place over two days this week at Galway Racecourse.
Martin Leahy, maxon's lead Sales Engineer for Ireland, as well as Matthew Dean, maxon UK & Ireland's head of Medical Applications, attended the event on 25 and 26 September. The exhibition was a productive occasion, and as Europe's second biggest med tech show, the event attracted an array of medical device manufacturers.
maxon showcased a range of DC and brushless DC (BLDC) motors designed specifically for medical applications, as well as gearheads, encoders, and motor controllers.
Martin and Matt Dean explained how maxon motors and drives power surgical systems and tools, active implants, pumps & drug delivery systems, as well as rehabilitation and prosthetics.
Get ready for CYBATHLON, 25-27 October
Final preparations are underway for CYBATHLON, taking place 25-27 October in Switzerland. The event aims to break down the barriers of disabilities by combining competitors with technology innovation.
This video tells the story of CYBATHLON's inception and explains the motivation behind its launch.
Meanwhile, teams from around the world are preparing to compete over two days across eight disciplines. Unlike para sports that aim to balance the equality of assistive aids, CYBATHLON actively promotes technological innovation among competing teams.
The ultimate goal of this innovation is to spread the use of improved assistive technology for eventual use by people with disabilities around the world. maxon drive systems power an array of assistive technology, and the company is proud to sponsor CYBATHLON.
