Overview of the Assignments in Work Order tracking:

- Usage: Employed by Work Order planners and dispatchers to assign Crafts, Labor, Crews, or Vendors to a work order.

- Status Flow: Each assignment follows its own status flow based on the assignment and work order status, including Waiting for Assignment, Assigned, and Completed.

- Scheduling: Scheduled start and finish times for each assignment are typically populated from work order schedules, but can also be individually set.

- Control: Provides detailed control over individual labor planning, which is crucial for emergency work.

- Assignments: Allows the assignment of Labor, Crafts, Crews, and Vendors to a work order.

- Integration: The Assignment Manager and graphical Assignment functionalities commit assignments to this tab.

- Mobile Compatibility: Used by Maximo Mobile to display work orders to technicians.

- Automatic Labor Reporting: Assignment completion automatically logs labor actuals.

- Assignment Deletion: Assignments are automatically deleted when a work order is closed. This lack of assignment history requires careful consideration during solution design.

- History Query: The default query for Work Order history lists is structured with the understanding that assignment records are deleted upon work order closure. The query logic includes:

- List of CLOSED or COMP work orders from the last 180 days that match the asset number of the currently assigned work orders for the technician.
