On July 24, 2020, IBM released its new Maximo 7.6.1.2 feature pack as its newest software upgrade. IBM has taken account of user feedback to make asset management more reliable and to keep down maintenance costs. The update continuously monitors user information so that optimal solutions can be found in response to specific problems.

Connectivity Enhancements

Maximo Asset Management now offers connectivity enhancements so you can import digital data from an app on your mobile phone. You can also set up this app to receive push notifications. That way, you can stay up to date with everything that's going on in the operation without having to be at your desk.

Token Licensing Improvements

The new Maximo software installation offers additional support for the token licensing model of product valuation. You can now use token licenses to value both Aviation and Nuclear Power products, as well as monitor the current distribution of access types in the Token Licensing Setup application.

License Monitoring

You can now use the License Usage Monitor application to keep track of license allocation, license new products, and monitor which users you want to show in the log.

Reporting

The upgrade makes loading reports simpler and more efficient. The system monitors the presence of reports to ensure that the most recent versions are always installed.

Work Centers

Maximo 7.6.1.2 offers additional support to help improve the general organization and management of the workload. Storeroom management is improved through the Manage Inventory Work Center app which enables inventory to be monitored more effectively.

Email Listeners

The improved Email Listener application allows you to embed images supported by JPEG, PNG, and GIF into emails and to use the OAuth 2.0 protocol for email-providers who use the cloud.

Regulatory Compliance

To make the system more secure, there is now an electronic signature function that users can add to their profiles. This enables the system to keep track of actions and to verify users.

Navigation for Assets and Locations Hierarchies

This feature of the IBM Maximo application improves the presentation and management of assets and locations, which makes it easier to navigate. You can organize them in one hierarchical view from which you can easily move assets and locations as required.

Logging Features for Cron Tasks

This IBM Maximo update makes managing cron tasks easier and more efficient. Administrators can follow long-running cron tasks and easily find information concerning their status. This application lends support to the PMWoGen cron task by fixing the size and number of log files.

Attachments

With Maximo, you can now add multiple attachments at the same time to streamline operations and productivity. Each attachment will automatically be given a special ID to simplify the document and ensure precision.

Integration with External Applications

This IBM Maximo asset management software can accommodate a greater number of external message providers. This provides more freedom and versatility and allows for better productivity. You can now integrate messages and use external systems to exchange data. The IBM Maximo update also provides additional features for dealing with endpoints, event filtering, and API Keys.

Scripting

IBM Maximo Asset Management Multitenancy

With the latest improvements made to IBM Maximo Asset Management Multitenancy 7.6.1.2, you can integrate with the Kafka messaging platform. Here, and through the Migration Manager application, you can communicate by message or assign products and licenses.

Considerations Before Updating

Organizations looking to install the 7.6.1.2 Feature Pack need to make sure that a 7.6.1.1 Limited Availability (LA )Fix (from May 29th, 2020) or Interim Fix (IFix) 008, isn't already installed, which may not be included in the package. If your organization applies any LA Fixes or IFix 008 after 29 May, it is not recommended to apply the 7.6.1.2 Feature Pack unless the first 7.6.1.2 interim fix has been released. After its release, organizations should be able to install the 7.6.1.2 Feature Pack together with the 7.6.1.2 interim fix.

Prerequisites

Before you install the 7.6.1.2 Feature Pack, please make sure that you meet the minimum requirements. Under Products to the supported version, you will find listed Industry Solutions and Add-Ons. Make this update after you have installed 7.6.1.2 but before you run the Database update from the Configuration Program.
