Maximizing Wire Rope Life

Maximizing Wire Rope Life

Move forward with LE’s proven solutions for extending wire rope equipment life.

Lubricant Application

Problem

Lubricating wire rope can be difficult. It is frequently done by hand, which is time-consuming, can be messy, and creates housekeeping challenges and safety hazards. To properly lubricate, the lubricant must make its way to the core of the wire rope, something that is difficult to achieve with hand application.

LE Solution

Eliminate messy, time-consuming hand application with an efficient automatic lubrication system. We recommend the Viper MKII system. With one pass, it injects the perfect amount of lubricant to protect the rope, getting it into the core.

Correct Lubricant

Problem

Depending on the environment, abrasive wear can occur on the inside and outside of the rope. Abrasive wear usually reduces rope diameter and can result in core failure and internal wire breakage. Therefore, picking the correct heavy-duty industrial wire lubricant is critical to prolonging wire rope life.

LE Solution

Wire rope lubricants have three principal functions.

  1. They reduce friction as individual wires move over each other.
  2. They provide corrosion protection in the core, inside wires, and exterior surfaces.
  3. They prevent abrasive wear.

Lubrication Engineers has formulated a line of penetrating and coating wire rope lubricants to meet the challenges of friction, corrosion, oxidation and abrasion while remaining pliable. When properly applied to wire rope, the outstanding adhesive strength helps them remain on the rope and maintains a strong lubricating film between wires and strands.

Environmental Impact

Problem

Wire ropes are working pieces of equipment that are normally exposed to air, water, and contaminants such as salt and soil. Many industries are required to conform to environmental standards and are implementing more green initiatives.

LE offers lubricants – including an EAL grease – formulated to minimize the environmental impact if accidentally released into the soil or aquatic environments.

Old greasing-box generation are very good. But the revolution is in progress! Delta-G is the lightest, the more ergonomic and the cheapest greasing-box. https://stservice.fr/Banque%20images/deltag2.mp4
