Hello Pro,
I hope you’ve started implementing the tips from our first post. Today, we’ll dive into an intriguing topic: once you understand how to use LinkedIn, what should you post?
LinkedIn is widely recognized as a professional platform. Many students join, feeling they’re not yet professionals, and end up simply observing rather than participating. However, it’s a fantastic opportunity to get involved and be noticed.
Stand for something
First, stand for something. Beyond being a student, is there something you want to be known for? Do you have a unique skill you can highlight? If so, it’s worth sharing. As a student, you have a unique opportunity to stand out by championing something you’re passionate about. For instance, if you're a graphic design student, there are numerous aspects of your journey you can share. Share completed projects, whether personal, academic, or freelance. Explain the process, the impact, and the challenges you faced. Additionally, write about current trends in graphic design that we hear about all the time but may never have understood their usage and benefit.

Leverage your field of study
There’s a reason you chose your particular program, whether it's engineering, pharmacy, or communication. Every time you attend a lecture, discover what’s new. Was it your first time tackling a topic you’ve never encountered, or did a lecture provide deeper insights into something you’ve known for some time? Sharing these experiences can be incredibly valuable.

Highlight projects and assignments
Projects and assignments are integral to a student’s journey through school. Share details about interesting projects or assignments you’re working on. The assignment that took days to complete or the confidence you gained presenting on behalf of your group taught you something new. As a class representative or an SRC executive, highlight what you’ve learned from this role and how it might apply to your future career.
?
Attend and share event insights
Post about events, workshops, or seminars you attend. Universities offer numerous free events for students. Make time to attend TEDx programs, SRC events, and other campus happenings. Network, share key takeaways, and discuss how these experiences contribute to your growth.
?
Seize volunteer opportunities
When volunteer opportunities arise, seize them. Talk about what you did and the impact it had. Share the skills and resources that were valuable during your volunteer experience. This demonstrates your commitment to personal and professional development.
Use hashtags
Add hashtags to make your posts discoverable to people who are searching for or following that specific hashtag. This can broaden your reach beyond your immediate network. It's important to choose relevant ones that align with your content and audience.
