Maxime's Memorable Marketing Internship at Travix

What were your primary responsibilities during your internship, and how did they align with your career goals?

My main responsibilities during my internship included creating newsletters and updating various landing pages on the Vliegwinkel website. These tasks came with tight deadlines and allowed me to express my creativity. Another significant responsibility was helping to manage the social media accounts for Cheaptickets.nl/be. I created a social media plan and posted content daily. These responsibilities aligned well with my goals for the internship, as they provided me with a great deal of independence and learning opportunities. The level of responsibility I had was not only motivating but will also be highly valuable for my future career.

What was the most valuable skill or experience you gained during your internship, and how will it help you in your future career?

During my internship, I primarily learned the importance of being flexible. Plans can change last minute, and it is crucial to be open to such changes. Additionally, I placed great value on learning how to seek feedback and critically evaluate it. The tools I used and the skills I developed in the process are of immense value for my future career.

How did you feel about the culture at our company, and did you find it easy to fit in with the team?

The atmosphere at the office was always fantastic. I felt comfortable right from the first few weeks. There were also many other interns who were immediately friendly, and I could ask them all my questions. The team itself was also very pleasant. Working in an international company, where you constantly heard different languages, was fascinating, and yet we were able to collaborate so effectively. Additionally, there were many enjoyable activities organized, such as monthly drinks and even a winter gala! Real highlights that I will never forget.?

What was your favourite project or task that you worked on during your internship, and what did you learn from it?

I ultimately think that helping manage the social media accounts was my favourite task because it was a very independent project where I could track my own results. Promoting giveaways and destinations was always a real challenge, and I found it super enjoyable. We also achieved fantastic results as a team, especially on Instagram (from 10k followers to 14.3k) and TikTok (went viral with over 400k views). These outcomes are amazing, and being entrusted with such responsibility in this task is truly an honour.

Based on your experience, what advice would you give to future interns at our company?

Be open and go for it! Seize opportunities with both hands and don't be afraid of taking on responsibilities. This team is genuinely here to encourage your growth, and we support each other. The freedom you are given is invaluable, so don't hesitate to be creative!
