MAVERICK TRIUMPHS AT THE DESIGN & INNOVATION AWARDS 2025

Maverick wins the Best New Series award thanks to its design flexibility.

During the spectacular Design & Innovation Awards 2025 event, organized by Boat International in Kitzbühel, our Flexplorer 146, M/Y Maverick, was crowned Best New Series. This prestigious recognition once again affirms the excellence and innovation that define our work.

Maverick, like the entire Flexplorer range, was designed with a clear vision: to combine robustness, versatility, and elegance in a single innovative concept. The exterior lines, naval architecture, and engineering of Maverick and the entire Flexplorer range were crafted by Hydro Tec, while the interiors were developed by Francesco Paszkowski Design. Thanks to this combination, the Flexplorer 146 stands out for its ability to undertake long voyages without compromising on comfort and sophistication.

The award was granted due to the extraordinary flexibility offered by the Flexplorer 146 platform, which impressed the judges with its ability to combine long-range autonomy with spacious luxury living areas. Compared to previous models, the interiors appear even more open and airy, ensuring an unprecedented onboard experience.

The judges particularly appreciated the level of customization available to owners, who can tailor their yacht to their preferences, from deck configuration to specialized equipment choices. One example of this versatility can be seen by comparing the first two units in the series: Maverick and Mat. The latter, a finalist in other categories, is a three-deck explorer that stands out for the absence of the characteristic A-frame crane present on Maverick.

In addition to Maverick’s victory, other projects of ours were also recognized among the best in the industry.

Mat, another model from the Flexplorer range, was a finalist in the Best Naval Architecture, Displacement Motor Yachts and Outstanding Exterior Design, Motor Yachts 42m to 51.9m categories, confirming the excellence of Hydro Tec's work in exterior design, naval architecture, and engineering.

Anjelif, a 49.9-meter yacht built by Columbus Yachts with design by Marco Casali Too Design and naval architecture by Hydro Tec, was nominated for the Eco Award, showcasing our studio’s focus on sustainability and technological innovation.

These successes fill us with pride and provide even greater motivation to face future challenges. 2025 will be a particularly special year for us, as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. There could be no better way to start this significant milestone than with a recognition that rewards our constant commitment to innovation and quality in the world of yacht design.
