 “Oh! my child the sea must go to sleep, please say good bye to sea and let us get back home.” The mother stance here when she utters these words, she is buzzing the tale. Yet child trusts the mother and reacts soulfully. Now you might get hooked with the cute little tall tales your mother had told when you were young.

This is where our discussion on motherhood started, I instigated my friend about being a mother.

She responded that she took up newer responsibilities as a mother and altered the channel after marriage. It was a first snap to my assumption of woman saying sacrifice and compromise revue play. I read different perspective of people on this phase of life. A general advice given by people is spending quality time with the child, yet when will that quality time to nurture would appear is a bigger question. Midlife crisis for woman is mostly deprived of time spent with their children. If not now, then realized little later.

Reckoning her during my school times, I so asked her about her being an enthusiastic adolescent with aspiring dreams and goals. She seldom responded, after a grooving pause, she rejoined with present and told that feeling good about yourself and happiness with values is superior ambition I have. She added I always wanted to stand out from the usual womankind. Even before me coming out of the amazement she started with the answers to the uncanvassed questions.

I remember her quoting, “When people are considering compromise in career for child’s development why isn’t inverse considered too. Calling it a day, it all recapitulates to inner peace and priority for me is to give fond memories to my son with my enriched experience.”

I could see the depth in her clarity that surety of rebuilding her career any day. She carried, “even today I am independent, self-sufficient and have built career on my own as a freelance trainer and speaker”. Rendering a 9 to 5 occupation is an effortless choice than becoming an entrepreneur yet knowing the challenges that are menacing.

A musing thought of having warm and congenial people around is good endure. I got the same impression when she spoke of her family. She complimented, parenting is joy when done together and never consider that as one-sided game. She affirms that happiness of the family is a sheer responsibility and building an ecosystem acquired formidable time and indulgence. She regains her strength from family’s emotional nourishment, the ambiance at home acts as big pole of strength and always given her hope. She did convey that she was the same from the beginning and there were not too many compromises she has done to please others. Recently touching to comprehend that family needs complimenting hands to reap sustained happiness.
