You’re seeing the traffic come in,

but for some reason, the conversion rate isn’t where you want it to be.


So what’s the issue? Truth is, it’s not always easy to tell. But there are a few copy changes that you can make to improve the baseline performance of your page right away.

A classic copywriter’s trick: Rewrite your headline 10 different ways (or more). There’s an almost certain chance that you’ll come up with something clearer and more enticing than you did the first time.

The truth is, your customers don’t care what you do. But they do care about what you do for them. Look for opportunities to use “you” language instead of “we” language.

It's easy to get caught up in the parlance of our professions—especially if we’re trying to establish credibility and authority. But if your customers don’t understand it, it may be doing the opposite. Focus on writing in simple, clear language that your customers can easily read and process.

Few landing page elements do as much heavy lifting as your call-to-action buttons, so make sure they’re not just an afterthought. Instead of “Learn more”, see if there’s a more interesting approach you can take.

The number of people that scroll past the hero section of your landing page diminishes exponentially by the page length.


Look for opportunities to reduce the amount of content on the page.


Avoid long blocks of text. Use shorter testimonials. Edit anything and everything to get your point across faster.
