Jesus Sends Out The Twelve

Why Send Only To The “Lost Sheep” Of Israel

I have a Special Prayer request, We covet your prayers to start posting the message in a video version as that will give the full feel of the Love and Kindness these lessons are actually being said. We are dealing with some Health Issues, they maybe serious, and tests are being done, not on me, so please if you could pray for my Wife, and that all can be controlled, we will not proceed to video until this is taken care of. GOD Bless

As We start to enter the heart of Matthew, I am reminded that perhaps the Church suffers with the divisions called, YES, Denominations! The Fracturing of the Christian Church is perhaps Satan’s Most covert plan as each Denomination digs in and claims to be defenders of the True Faith.

Please Take note, the TRIUNE GODHEAD FATHER, SON, And HOLY SPIRIT Alone are the True protectors of the Faith, and NOT Denominations Period!!

We will see more and more of the Nitpicking at Jesus as we walk to HIS Preordained Collision with the Cross, and Armageddon.

We will also of course important to remember context, and what I am getting at is to understand these passages correctly, we of course need the Enlightening of the HOLY SPIRIT to open our Eyes & Ears, and as such it vitally imperative that we have a grasp of the entire scripture.

As we will see, Matthew (Levi) is very well trained, and through the inspiration of the HOLY SPIRIT, He points to each act of Jesus fulfilling prophecies, in other words, Matthew is laying out the case as we have discussed, that Jesus Mission is what the Whole Bible is about PERIOD!

It was always a rescue mission, and as we will see in the first lesson in Chapter 10, the Apostles are going out witnessing for Jesus, about this very fact.

Let’s Run To Worship, but keep an ear open for how Jesus describes the People who reject from the Children of Israel.

Call To Worship

First Reading

Numbers 13

?1 ? Then the LORD spoke to Moses saying,

?2 "Send out for yourself men so that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I am going to give to the sons of Israel; you shall send a man from each of their fathers' tribes, every one a leader among them."

?3 So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran at the command of the LORD, all of them men who were heads of the sons of Israel.

?4 These then were their names: from the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur;

?5 from the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori;

?6 from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh;

?7 from the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph;

?8 from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun;

?9 from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu;

?10 from the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi;

?11 from the tribe of Joseph, from the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi;

?12 from the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli;

?13 from the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael;

?14 from the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi;

?15 from the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.

?16 These are the names of the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land; but Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun, Joshua.

?17 When Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, he said to them, "Go up there into the Negev; then go up into the hill country.

?18 "See what the land is like, and whether the people who live in it are strong or weak, whether they are few or many.

?19 "How is the land in which they live, is it good or bad? And how are the cities in which they live, are they like open camps or with fortifications?

?20 "How is the land, is it fat or lean? Are there trees in it or not? Make an effort then to get some of the fruit of the land." Now the time was the time of the first ripe grapes.

?21 ? So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, at Lebo-hamath.

?22 When they had gone up into the Negev, they came to Hebron where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

?23 Then they came to the valley of Eshcol and from there cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes; and they carried it on a pole between two men, with some of the pomegranates and the figs.

?24 That place was called the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the sons of Israel cut down from there.

?25 When they returned from spying out the land, at the end of forty days,

?26 ? they proceeded to come to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; and they brought back word to them and to all the congregation and showed them the fruit of the land.

?27 Thus they told him, and said, "We went in to the land where you sent us; and it certainly does flow with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

?28 "Nevertheless, the people who live in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large; and moreover, we saw the descendants of Anak there.

?29 "Amalek is living in the land of the Negev and the Hittites and the Jebusites and the Amorites are living in the hill country, and the Canaanites are living by the sea and by the side of the Jordan."

?30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, "We should by all means go up and take possession of it, for we will surely overcome it."

?31 But the men who had gone up with him said, "We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us."

?32 So they gave out to the sons of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, "The land through which we have gone, in spying it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants; and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great size.

?33 "There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."

Second Reading & Lesson

Matthew 10

1 ? Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

?2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

?3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;

?4 Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Him.

?5 ? These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: "Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans;

?6 but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

?7 "And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'

?8 "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.

?9 "Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts,

?10 or a bag for your journey, or even two coats, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker is worthy of his support.

?11 "And whatever city or village you enter, inquire who is worthy in it, and stay at his house until you leave that city.

?12 "As you enter the house, give it your greeting.

?13 "If the house is worthy, give it your blessing of peace. But if it is not worthy, take back your blessing of peace.

?14 "Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.

?15 "Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

?16 ? "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.

?17 "But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues;

?18 and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

?19 "But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say.

?20 "For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

?21 "Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

?22 "You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

?23 "But whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes.

?24 "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master.

?25 "It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household!

?26 "Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.

?27 "What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.

?28 "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

?29 "Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.

?30 "But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

?31 "So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

?32 "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.

?33 "But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

?34 "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

?35 "For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW;

?36 and A MAN'S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.

?37 "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

?38 "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

?39 "He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.

?40 "He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

?41 "He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

?42 "And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward."

Jesus Sends Out The Twelve

Just a Tiny Sidebar to Start and it’s a review question, the reason we Capitalize the Name of GOD, FATHER, SON, HOLY SPIRIT, is why?

As Jesus says, John 10:29 "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

?30 "I and the Father are one."

Matthew?16:15 He *said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"

?16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the SON of the living God."

?17 And Jesus said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. (Work of the HOLY SPIRIT, by the will of the FATHER)

Because the GODHEAD is inseparable, and as Such, they are ALL the Parts of YAHWEH are they not, so each name deserves to be in Capitals.

?

Jesus Sends out the twelve, and gives them some amazing authority “ Mt 10:1 ? Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.”

Can you actually imagine your visiting Pastor, Rabbi, or Imam from another Denomination, or Sect, comes in to your building for services, and afterwards lining All those with real infirmities, and REALLY Healing them.

What do you think the reaction would be, and remember this needs to be outside our norm as the Apostles were?

Hopefully The HOLY SPIRIT has opened our eyes to admit, we would be a little skeptical, if not Pissed off on how these interlopers could come in and show off to our norm.

Face it, it is how we react, and sadly is included way to much in weekly messages.

Let’s be blunt, had we been in a Roman Catholic Church we would Hear how “wrong” the Protestants are.

Had we been in a Baptist Church We would hear “How Wrong” the Presbyterians, or other Pedobaptism (Infant Baptism) Denominations are, I will be fair the reverse Charge against Baptist IS hurled at the Credobaptism (Believers Baptism) Camps.

The Seventh Day Adventist would say Bluntly (and yes this was said to me) “You are going to Hell for not worshiping on the Sabbath (Saturday)” even though the Sabbath Day predates the Roman seven-day week calendar, and the “Seventh Day” Moved on each Festival, so No Saturday is NOT the Saturday of the Old Testament.

We aren’t giving our Jewish Friends, and Muslim Friends a pass, as they too are Dogmatic about their blindness to the truth.

So, Jesus is sending HIS Apostles out to the “Lost Sheep Of Israel” or what seems to be at least a group that might be more accepting as they are their own people, and HE is giving them Amazing Authority, that one would suggest would convince them they are for real.

This takes us to their only going to the “Lost Sheep Of Israel”;

Why Send Only To The “Lost Sheep” Of Israel

Have you wondered why Jesus sent them ONLY to the “Lost Sheep” Of Israel?

Again, with the entire text of Scripture, and the HOLY SPIRIT’S revealing, we quickly come to these following verses to help us answer why (I will see you after the verses, and truth be told if we had the video messages up and running I would only be referring to these); Joshua 23:6 "Be very firm, then, to keep and do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, so that you may not turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left,

?7 so that you will not associate with these nations, these which remain among you, or mention the name of their gods, or make anyone swear by them, or serve them, or bow down to them.

?8 "But you are to cling to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.

John 18:28 ? Then they *led Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium, and it was early; and they themselves did not enter into the Praetorium so that they would not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

?29 Therefore Pilate went out to them and *said, "What accusation do you bring against this Man?"

Acts 10:10 But he became hungry and was desiring to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance;

?11 and he *saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground,

?12 and there were in it all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the air.

?13 A voice came to him, "Get up, Peter, kill and eat!"

?14 But Peter said, "By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean."

?15 Again a voice came to him a second time, "What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy."

?16 This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.

?17 Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might be, behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions for Simon's house, appeared at the gate;

?18 and calling out, they were asking whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was staying there.

?19 ? While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men are looking for you.

?20 "But get up, go downstairs and accompany them without misgivings, for I have sent them Myself."

Jesus is of course aware of the Probation for Jews to interact on their own with those not Jewish, and in kindness, and respect, does not reveal to the Apostles that they are outside of the FATHER’S will, they too are just as lost, and unclean as the “Outsiders”.

In other words, had their eyes been opened yet, they would have seen that Jesus was already interacting with the “Unclean”.

We have talked about that at length, and will continue to do so as this is the MOST perverted misunderstanding of the Scriptural Narrative, as WE are ALL indeed totally UNCLEAN, and Jesus Christ ALONE Is CLEAN, Period!!!!

But still Jesus, is kindly not piecing their conscience, and is indeed sending them ONLY to their own people.

This takes us to their reception;

What Reception From Their Own People Should They Expect?

We briefly talked about this in the first point, but we need to actually pray the HOLY SPIRIT open our eyes completely to the truth, as we will be a bit blunt here.

On October 31, 1517, Dr. Martin Luther, a Roman Catholic Munk, nailed 95 Theses to the Door of the Wittenberg Castle, ?https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Works_of_Martin_Luther,_with_introductions_and_notes/Volume_1/Disputation_on_Indulgences#Ninety-five_Theses

Meant to start a dialog on returning the Roman Church to the roots of scripture, instead, it was seen as a Challenge to a complete earthquake to the Status quo.

In other words, the same situation Jesus HIMSELF endured, and the Church, Synagogues, and Mosques suffer today, as Demonic Divisions are at the root of nothing changing in over 2000 years.

So, Jesus knows full well that the Apostilles are in for a mostly rude welcome, as the represent the truth, just like Luther’s 95 discussion points, and as they were viewed with Hostility, so were most of the Apostles visits.

But wait a minute Wallace, my Church Club won’t treat any visitor that way, will they?

Well, Yes, and to be frank, we all know it and have heard it in our building too!

“The Methodist are Serpents”

The Other Presbyterian Denominations are “Wrong” in their application of scripture.

The Roman Catholics are totally “wrong”, they say, the Eastern Church and Protestants are totally Wrong.

The Baptist are Totally Wrong on Baptism

The Presbyterians are fully Wrong on Baptism

The Lutherans are nuts

The Episcopes, PCUSA, and other Liberal Denominations are totally wrong on Biblical Application.

And Yet, none consider Jesus own Words. Do they Luke 9:49 John answered and said, "Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow along with us."

?50 But Jesus said to him, "Do not hinder him; for he who is not against you is for you."

As we walk through Matthew, the Hatred of HIS own people will become greater, and sadly, even today it is the very same.

Think about this, REALLY, When was the last time you Church Club invited any other Denomination or Denominations over for a Picnic, and to discuss common ground and not what divides us?

So, why would we be surprised when the Apostles are “Welcomed So Warmly” and had in many cases flee for their lives, after all was it the Healing of UNHEALABLE (in most cases even today) Illnesses, or what it really was, jealousy, and the possible threat to the Club Leadership!

As we walk through Chapter 10, we will sadly see this attack from Jesus “own” people, and will perhaps understand why HE says bluntly?14 "Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.

?15 "Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

HOLY SPIRIT, in the Name of Jesus Christ Our LORD, and by the Mercy of the FATHER, please Help us to see that the worst enemy of the Church is perhaps the Denominations themselves, and that YOU alone are the Truth and LIGHT.

In Christ Alone

The LORD’S Feast

1Co 11:23 ? For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread;

?24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me."

?25 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."

?26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.

?27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

?28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

?29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.

When I serve Communion I serve a Raised Roll on Purpose, and a Cup of Grape Juice (4 oz) can you guess why?

Yes, The Lord’s Table we are to have a Seat, take your shoes off, no need the rush, Jesus has indeed Finished the Work.
