Matter 1.2 improves industry standards

This week we covered the launch of Matter 1.2, an IOT connectivity standard that aims to improve the smart home industry through the better connection and use of smart devices. The Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) announced that the updated version is available with nine new device types, revisions, and additions to existing categories, core improvements to the specification and SDK, and certification and testing tools. Matter 1.2 is bringing new layers of interoperability, simplicity, reliability, and security while unlocking new use cases and features for the future. The release aims to make Matter devices more reliable and responsive allowing for greater control for the user.
We also covered a partnership between Vianeos and United Development Company (UDC) to provide residents of The Pearl Island, Qatar with an IPTV service. The Pearl Island is an artificial island located off the coast of Doha, with 52,000 residents. 'Oroom Residential’ from Vianeos has been specifically designed to cater to the needs and preferences of the Island’s residents.
