Matt & Dave's Walk in the Park!
Matthew Cheek
Managing Director & Head of Sales & Marketing at Casterbridge. Membership Officer at PFS Hampshire & Dorset
Last year my two-year-old nephew, Frankie Cheek, was diagnosed with a form of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. He endured nine rounds of Chemotherapy and spent 3 months in Oklahoma receiving proton beam therapy almost every day! The great news is that earlier this year he got the thumbs up and was given the all clear. He is one of the lucky ones!!!
Myself and David Watts, a good friend and work colleague, are doing a 100km walk in 24hrs following the challenging South Downs Way to raise much needed funds for Alice’s Arc and the work they do supporting the children and families impacted by this childhood cancer. Although our goal is to just complete this arduous walk, we are aiming to do it within 24 hours!
Alice’s Arc is a new children's cancer charity funding research into finding more targeted and less harsh treatments for rhabdomyosarcoma. They are working in conjunction with the Institute of Cancer Research and Great Ormond Street Hospital to achieve this. We support the children and families impacted by the disease.
If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause and sponsor myself and David, please visit our JustGiving page... https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/MnD-Walk-In-The-Park
Many thanks,
Matt & David
