The IT MATRIX - The New Mirage
Recently I went for a long drive, to my spouse's native, on the way the road was so flat and nicely asphalted, there were mirages as if the road is a Mirror. But when you see the long road ahead of you there were bumps and small potholes.
The current working population and the education system is something like that, I Suppose. The students and the graduates are seeing their mirages not their true selves. They are in a halo of - salaries, packages, destinations mostly influenced by social media and peer pressure? add to that parental pressure, and to that matrimonial pressure and now we have a Gender Pressure! Comparison of packages between male and female!
I was a conversation with a friend just yesterday who is an prof in a college, and she was lamenting that admissions in core branches have gone down. Mechanical, Civil and architecture fields are struggling with 10 % filling. They are closing those departments!
About 20 Engineering colleges in Bangalore have shut down and more to go in branches of MECH, CIVIL and ELECTRICAL
So is this time to re-think that can we do something. Do we have a role to play to guide these Mis-guided Salary Sulking Fickel minded youths! who are daunted with A billion-dollar mirages from the IT- Industry!
Any Degree, Any Branch, No experience

Let's go back in time ,
In the starting of the 2000's the most core branches which were accepted by student's or opted was Mechanical Engineering, why because the market had opportunity and now no! Not exactly, because the IT mirage was Building, the Matrix was laid and the RED pill was in production for Millions to take ! The Big techies like 亚马逊 , 微软 谷歌 维布络 were in a mode of transformation in building the foundation for core services like Automation , banking, BPO . I know many of my peers who were selected for development ! Mark the word DEVELOPMENT! of platforms like chrome, facebook, tinder, amazon, edutech platforms like Byju's and a million other.
The new century started with the dotcom bubble burst but at the same time there was good news like launch of IRCTC online ticketing site. It took two years for airlines to allow online ticketing system. Google opened its office in India in 2004. BSNL also launched broadband services in this year. The social networking phenomenon introduced in India in 2005 with Orkut, Facebook came a year after. In 2008, 2G spectrum was allocated followed by 3G a year after. WiMax also was auctioned in 2010.
In that time period the COMPANIES wanted the, Brainy ones ! they did not buu the policy of ANY DEGREE ANY GRADUATE! Why because they wanted domain knowledge. And a poor MECHANICAL Engineering who did not know what is C - beyond- Printf(" Hello world " \n); was a BLACK SHEEP ! as he would consume LOADS OF COFFEE, BISCUITS as the things were getting DEVELOPED not TESTED!
If we see this Great! statistics From this reputed news article , the decline of core engineering branches can be justified! the IT has grown to be a lone warrior who is taking the Confused GEN -Z by a wave of SALARIES, PERKS, VACATIONS at the cost of What ? If you ask a Young mechanical engineer who is into IT ,
He says- Its fine I started with a PACKAGE Of 6 LPA, Imagine How hard i need to work to get this in My OWN DOMAIN, I just took a course from QSpiders - Software Testing Training Institute or JSpiders - Training & Development Center and I got My Dream Job!
But when you pinch him more and ask - ARE you HAPPY ! Sir lets cut this and conversation and let's go for Coffee!!

Nothing to wonder about this , platforms like Tableau , Atlassian etc who provide tech support for various jobs like SCRUM, SPRINT, C2C, BPO etc can Hire ANY BODY! I myself a Mechanical Grad use Atlassian Jira for Project management 3D Printzkart and its super easy and No brainer! So imagine if we run an organisation supporting these for the people in the US ! Wow JAckpot !

Get a XYZ degree from a ABC College and get into 123.com Company! Don't care what they do there ! Oh Sorry That's not it about IT, there are 456, wer, yuh, ghy , asd, wasd and a billion more i call these SHELL Training centers who are a SPIN off from the major IT X - employees and they no the trump cards to Play- JAVA, REACT, R, AI, ML blah bla blah .....then ..........There you GO!!!!!!!! YOU ARE READY to Enter the MATRIX! The Gunny pig enters the drill with lot of Anxiety, fear and reluctance!

There are 100s of MECHIES, I know who Re great TECHIES are! Sometimes, I lament what made them to take this step ! And Also I AM PROUD If they Had not taken these steps What we might Have MISSED !
Think before you choose a career path
We need mechanical ,civil and architectural professionals. i hope the colleges and academies deliver and inspire more , as i believe they are equally important in motivating and showing them direction
in the past 4 years we 3D Printzkart have learnt, inspired guided and motivated great young talent and today we are proud to see them in the globe as CORE Engineers, none of them took a leap of faith into IT and they are intelligent mechanical engineers having a great career as leaders and entrepreneurs!
