Matrix & AI?

Matrix has always been one of my favorite movies. I know! It is nerdy! When I looked at the AI breakthrough our team is making, the Matrix storyline often comes to mind. How can humans and machines interact, engage and enhance each other, or is it mutually exclusive?

To deliver ethical AI, and ensure we are not enslaved by machines, as many feared, We believe one of the most important AI research fields is building a bridge between AI and Human.  We propose an algorithm-agnostic approach to convert Machine Learning models into human-understandable rules while maintaining the accuracy of predictions, and for human experts to edit the rules for safety and compliance.

In Matrix, when Neo was learning Kongfu, many data about Kongfu were loaded into his brain. If we imagine Neo's avatar in Matrix is a machine learning algorithm, it has been learning from data and evolving its capabilities. Neo said 'I now know Kongfu'. However, Neo avatar in Matrix only made breakthroughs when Neo's mentor Morpheus came into the Matrix and taught Neo the rules.

Can our human experts be like Morpheus, and goes into the machine and interact with ML algorithm, and guiding ML on what rules to follow?
