It has been a busy week on the #MediaRevenue beat and there are lots of interesting stories included in the list below today. If you have any questions about any of the stories, let me know and I would be happy to respond here in public or directly in private if preferred.
Payments from tech companies to publishers are in the news.
The role of Opinion coverage in media revenue strategy is the subject of much debate and that seems likely to continue.
Media companies of all kinds are increasingly leaning in to Events as a source of revenue and that seems likely to continue as a mix of high end exclusive in-person Events and hybrid live + virtual Events.
As I mentioned before, we have now launched the?"Mather: Strategies"?consultancy?service to support media organizations that are moving to the "digital transformation 2.0" stage of their development and aligning their technology, content and newsroom strategy to optimize for consumer revenue.
We will shortly announce some very high profile additions to our strategic consultancy team and will be expanding our work with newspapers and magazines to include other kinds of media and even non media businesses.
Always?let me know on Twitter?if you spot any?#MediaRevenue?stories I may have missed. If you have any questions or comments about these updates,?please get in touch.?
