Material World and Spiritual World: Are they different?

In the last article, we concluded that where Science stops, there Spirituality begins. What is this Spirituality? How can it answer questions that Science cannot answer? How is Spirituality different from Materialism? In other words, what distinguishes the Material world from the Spiritual world? To find answers to these questions, we need to understand matter and spirit first.

Matter and Spirit

Matter refers to mass. Matter is something we can feel through all our senses. Take the example of any material object. We can touch, see, smell, feel any material object. Matter also has change of phases- from expansion to contraction to equilibrium. On the other hand, Spirit is something that we cannot feel through all our senses. Let's take a look at our own self. Our body has mass. we can see it, touch it and feel it. Our body is a good example of matter. At the same time, our body is infused with life energy which we can feel but we cannot see or touch. The life energy is an example of spirit.

The famous equation E = mc2 tells us that matter and energy are not different from each other. Actually, they are interchangeable. They are different stages of the same continuum, When energy is condensed, it becomes matter. In that sense, energy or spirit is the cause behind matter. When matter is dispersed, we get energy again. So matter is spirit in gross form and spirit is matter is fine form.

Let's understand this inter-changeability with another example. Behind any tangible material object, there is a thought. Suppose I possess a watch which is a material object. This means that I had a thought about this watch in the past. When I went to a watched store and purchased this watch, I actually materialized the thought which I once had. So, it is clear that behind every material possession, there is a thought. Every thought comes from a particular state of mind. When the mind is at a higher state it can generate a powerful thought. Every state of mind is at a particular energy level. So all material possessions you have are results of a bunch of thoughts generated from various states of mind at different energy levels. This explains how energy or spirit is the cause behind matter. When your spirit is high, the results you produce are significant. When you are dispirited, you end up producing poor results.

Material world and Spiritual World

Based on what we have learnt so far, we can now define the material world and the spiritual world. My material world comprises all the material possessions I have. My spiritual world consists of all my thoughts, ideas, emotions, states of mind etc which are the cause of my material possessions. That is why Material world and Spiritual world are actually inseparable from each other. Spiritual world is the cause behind the material world.

But most people are ignorant of the aforesaid truth. People look at material world and spiritual world as separate entities. In this world, people are divided as materialistic people and spiritual people. It is foolish and futile to look at material world and spiritual as two different entities. What we need is a paradigm shift. We need a completely new perspective on Life. We need to bust our ignorance.

Here is a New Perspective on Life...

We need to accept life as a whole- a total entity of spirit in material form. In reality there is no such scope of compartmental spheres. Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra believes that matter is the condensed form of spirit. Hence life is nothing but a physical exposition of spiritual entity, a soul. So if we need to make our material life beautiful, we need to take care of our spiritual entity,i.e., our soul. The higher and more elevated is our soul, the higher is the quality of our life. The more enlightened is our soul, the stronger is ability to navigate through the complexities of our material world. We shall talk more about it in our subsequent articles in the series.
