Reflections in the Masters' OR (1)

It's a truly humbling experience to walk down the OR corridor at Johns Hopkins, with a sense of time travel where our forefathers of modern neurosurgery had laid down the foundation. Dr. Dandy's OR for air ventriculography is just a few feet away. The constant dilemma between the need to see subsurface brain pathology, and the pain and suffering of the patient, has always been with us. The intertwined relationship between neurosurgeons and intraoperative imaging is clearly demonstrated here, where technology guided by clinical intuition has been a strong contributor for steady advancement of patient outcome. It's an honour to present our machine vision image guided surgery technology here, and hopefully we can do our small part in advancing patient care.
