TheVital Inspirational Sense Intrinsic to Our Nature? that inspires us into the future is called a Vision. All humans possess a quiet inner-self that guides them to what lifts their spirits and inspires them to harness their entire personal potential towards that purpose. A person with a Vision has an opportunity to direct all effort in a direction that not only serves the purpose but also their personal individualized growth. This way of life gives birth to the phenomenal mindset of a Visionary. Our big and small goals worked BACKWARDS, while WE continually move forward.
Visions usually connote larger than life goals and/or massive changes. Life in general is not spoken of through a Vision and makes sense through each individual situation, unique person, individual talents and gifts. Mahatma Gandhi had the vision of taking India out of the clutches of British Colonialism. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream for America. Lee Kuan Yew had a vision for Singapore. It is certainly not necessary that we have typical situations or larger than life scenarios to create Visions.
Similar to conscious investing of money with a clear financial plan to help grow, multiply and compound the earnings, the phenomenal ROI of tying ourselves to a vision is evident in how visions place demands on us, powering and empowering us at the same time. Powering as we are pushed to grow consciously, continuously and to become fully excelling human beings in work that is important to us. Empowering in as much as we learn planned investments of time, talent, thoughts, work, money and relationships. By consciously investing energy into a vision, we direct and maximize our best talents, gifts and abilities that compound over a period.
INFUSE FEELINGS, EMOTIONS, IMAGINATION, ENGAGEMENT
Creating a Vision is an ongoing personal process. What inspires and moves us reveals our deepest likes, dislikes and core desires and could appear as a thought, dream, visual or a cause that stirs our mind and heart. WHO we want to be as a person and what we want to make of our body, intelligence, education, desires, career, creative urges, financial dreams, relationship benchmarks, spiritual leanings, work, mission, our highest being, environment, business pursuits, personal talents, asset building can also cause a vision. I am personally fascinated, inspired and find myself closest to nature when I am touching fresh vegetables that I buy my own vegetables and have a vision too around city vegetable farming!
Visions of any kind come under the bohemian categories of imagination and inspiration. The process of imagination is mental, emotional and physical. The mentally imagined vision demands emotional engagement and physical movement. Our mental, emotional and physical selves become co-dependent as we set our imagination in motion to specifically articulate what has only been thought. Activating this faculty needs that we must direct our articulation and what it intends to achieve. Continued focus leads to new ideas, thoughts and insights showing up to enhance the vision. With each addition, we will have a corresponding emotional and physical stretch as we learn HOW to execute the addition. As we do that, we are pushed to go beyond our present selves, figure what we will need to do, what needs to change, resources needed, people needed and for us to become the perfect match to our Vision. It may be a new skill, finance, partnerships, work or any other addition that stretches our mind and asks us to act out of our comfort zones. Together our optimal mental, emotional and physical trio acts as the primary guidance system to further expand the Vision.
BECOMING IS A CONSCIOUS PROCESS
EFFECTIVE ACTION : PERSONAL DIMENSIONS
Our personal dimensions are always in unconscious motion making their presence felt in our daily lives. Our moods, spoken word, what we think we are, where we can make improvements etc. is always at play. Unless we give our dimensions a congruent direction, imagine the havoc they can cause if working in opposite directions. E.g. We are emotionally distressed about a pitch to a VC office and need to join a fitness challenge the same evening. With the distressed mental emotional state, the body feeling any different is rare. If the distress is resolved, the emotions and thoughts will support the body. If not, the in-congruency acts like the little bubble at the bottom of the lake that becomes visible only when it bursts on the surface. We then spend days and months struggling, failing and wondering why we are not moving forward jeopardizing our own effectiveness. Refinement of these dimensions is getting hold of the thoughts and actions consciously before they have developed a great deal to act out of control because what goes on inside us reflects in all we do. Our effectiveness in expressing and executing the vision depends largely upon the progressive identification and congruency of our personal dimensions. With sufficient awareness of all the dimensions, what they are, how they work we can become experts in being effective in our actions. The goal must be to keep them congruent, reach higher levels in each and make sure that at any time they should not be working against each other.
Universal personal dimensions
1.Physical:Looks, style, presentation, exterior health, inner health, body language, spoken word;
2.Mental: Length and breadth of thought, thought development, congruency in thought and action, confidence to trust thoughts;
3.Emotional:Well-being, relationships, sense of hurt, sensitivity, emotional intelligence, dealing with pain;
4.Intellectual:Character, will power, inner strength, determination, power of discrimination, power to discern;
5.Bliss:Happiness, sleep, stress, general levels of satisfaction;
6.Energy:Internal body, disposition, health, circulation, respiration;
7.Spiritual: Our connection with the source and faith in its presence and power;
8.Financial:Security, relationship with money, financial stability, source of satisfaction, resources for the Vision.
Understanding the effect of our dimensions and sub-dimensions allows us to own the effectiveness of our person. The conscious effort on our part to add goals, implement additions, assess results and identify improvements in each dimension. We can keep repeating the process for it to condition our head, heart and actions to stay self-accountable. By weaving a dimensional ideal and making it congruent with our vision, we deliberately move towards personal perfection and progression.
CAUSE DELIBERATE IMPROVEMENT
HONESTY, ACCOUNTABILITY, RESPONSIBILITY, INTEGRITY: TRANSFORM
The possibility of achieving what we have set out, primarily goes through four stages of thought. May happen, can happen, certainly can happen and will make it happen!As our vision and person engage with each other, we keep diving into unknown spaces, creating new results, discovering our own unknown strengths, weaknesses and talents. Through deliberate actions forward movement in thought as well as in action becomes the new normal. Conscious awareness of how a change in one dimension improves another dimension becomes a game of compounded improvement. If we are happy, our whole body feels good. If we are sad the body also feels the same. If we are thinking about something or someone that inspires us, we feel good within ourselves and vice versa.
If parts of us are confused, take them on as areas that need to be improved upon and increase the understanding of them. The state of confusion can easily be overcome by developing competency in that area. Take a reality check of what you could change, improve or acquire.
We must use skills we learnt at School but unlocking our mental potential over, above and beyond our educational conditioning is crucial to live a Vision. We only use 5% to 10% of our real potential. 90% is quite a number to get after. Let us make this part of our big and small Visions because WE ARE THE 90%.
