Mastering Perceptions/Part 2/Edited By: Dr. Larry Lester, PhD/ Your perceptions and your actions need to match. Negative - self evaluation - I can't do it, and then wonder how did I do that. Change the way you see yourself - self perception, and you will change the way you perform. The way you choose to look at the situation determines the types of statements you choose to say to yourself. These thoughts, in turn, affect performance. When you choose to look at everything you don't like about the situation, it will make difficult for the experience to be enjoyable. Don't dwell on all the reasons you cannot and the bad consequences associated with being unsuccessful. If you can just find another way to look at the situation - you will be more likely to choose thoughts that would help you to achieve.
