Mastering Focus in a Multitasker’s World

Mastering Focus in a Multitasker’s World

Today's newsletter is inspired (and hopefully someday sponsored) by Colin Branson and his nugget of wisdom:

"Focus. People who chase 5 dreams, chase 5 dreams for the rest of their life and none of them succeed."

I know this will probably come down to preference, but what do you think? Do you agree with Colin?

As entrepreneurs, we’re always brainstorming the next big idea; in fact, we’re probably so excited by all of them that putting each one into play seems like the best way forward.

And why wouldn’t it be? Being a Jack of all Trades is constantly celebrated, is it not?

For some, this may sound ideal, but oftentimes, pursuing multiple projects at once is akin to juggling. When all objects are finally up in the air, everything looks great, and the adrenaline of it feels amazing, but at some point, something’s gotta give.

Why?

Well, have you ever been to a circus where the ringmaster, the acrobat, and the clown are the same person?

It's science - the steady decline of time, energy, resources, and focus (where my ADHD kids at?).

Choosing to focus on one dream at a time doesn’t mean you’re putting all your eggs in one basket. It’s more like you’re choosing to incubate one egg thoroughly, ensuring it hatches, rather than sporadically warming several and ending up with none.

And what’s more, when diving deep into one dream, the skills and insights gained from that experience might just become the keys to unlocking the others.

With 30 years of experience and a 100% success rate in the entrepreneurial world, Colin Branson has earned his place at the table of “people whose advice I’d actually take”.

So pull up a chair and check out Colin's full episode here.

Stay sharp,

None of Your Business
