Mastering Email Marketing & Newsletters for B2B Marketers and GTM Leaders


Email marketing & newsletters are a vital channel for B2B organizations.


Casey Hill of ActiveCampaign shares a handful of interesting strategies to create effective B2B newsletters and email marketing in general.


He shared four essential tips (and then some):

  1. Have a clear goal for your newsletter - is it the bottom of the funnel to convert customers, the top of the funnel to drive a new pipeline, or owned media to build an audience asset? Match the content to the goal.
  2. Set expectations upfront about frequency, day/time, and topics so readers know what to expect and are more likely to engage. Plan content at least 4-5 weeks out.
  3. Ask 1-2 specific questions at the start to help personalize and improve deliverability to the inbox. Questions help show it’s not bulk email.
  4. Include specific data and case studies to build trust and show proof of your advice. Avoid generic content - get contextual.
