Mastering Content Creation with My 5Cs Method

Mastering Content Creation with My 5Cs Method

Two years ago, when I first started plotting my new and improved methodology for helping clients improve their business - I created my own version of the 5Cs Framework.

At first, I did this to help myself remain consistent with my own marketing.

I then introduced it to an online PT I was helping and she loved it.?

My business support network who know me well will chuckle at this…

Sometimes we don’t follow our own best advice do we?

Well, on Friday I went to Dougie Brown 's Unlocking Creativity Retreat - and I was reminded of this Framework and dug it back out of the cookie jar.?

So here it is.?

My secret formula to content creation.?

It applies to social media posts, video content, blog articles.?

In fact, it doesn’t matter what you are creating, follow the 5Cs for 12 weeks and you’ll have transformed your online presence and lead generation strategy.?

Do you have a pen?

1. Care

2. Courage

3. Consistency

4. Certainty

5. Confidence

Let's cover these off in more detail so you can implement this and master your own content creation.

Care - Give a damn.

If you don’t care about the message you are putting out into the world - it won’t stick. You won’t stick with it. It won’t come across as genuine. When the going gets tough, you’ll find another priority that needs your focus. Care about the people you’re helping; care about making a difference. Care enough to know that if you don’t share your story, expertise, passion with the world - you’re doing people a disservice.?

Courage - Gotta be brave to begin. Just start.

You’re not putting content out in the world to get approval, likes or comments.

There is a specific person you can help, have the courage to put yourself out there so they can find you. The more you write, the more you record, the more you create - the better and easier it gets.

Consistency - You can’t wait to feel like it.

You can’t wait for inspiration to strike. You just have to keep creating content consistently. It doesn’t have to be every day. But schedule set times in your calendar to get into creativity mode and make it non-negotiable. On LinkedIn, YouTube or your website - you can schedule content to be released at a later date. Do it now, set it, forget it.

Min 3 times a week - every week - create a consistent schedule.

The Consistent Truth

I’ve discovered countless business owners that started in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 - who have all created content consistently. What I call evergreen content that is still discoverable months and years after it was first published - think YouTube videos, podcasts, interviews, blogs.

Now they run multi-million pound organisations. Their content hasn’t always been good. They’ve evolved and got better. Fine tuned their message to market.

They’ve learnt how to write better content, overcome problems, present solutions that are in demand. And the only way to do this - consistent content.?

There isn’t a quick solution. Care, Courage, Consistency. Do this and you’re outperforming 99% of your competitors for your prospects' attention.?

I’ll be honest. I’ve watched leaders who started their business around the time I did, who have surpassed what I thought was possible because they just got on and did it. And did it consistently. Comparing ourselves to others is tough and a creativity killer ??

Courage Before Confidence

I recognised I faulted when it came to courage - hence why when I identified what I needed to do - I built a framework to remind myself how simple it can really be when you get out of your own way and step outside your comfort zone.?

I added the Care before Courage to give myself a motivator.?

Finally onto the last two.?

Certainty - don't forget this basic human need.

When you have certainty in your message and the service you’re delivering, the outcome you’re selling, you instil certainty in your prospective clients - and close the sale.

Have you come across the 6 Human Needs that Tony Robbins talks about? Certainty, Uncertainty, Significance, Growth, Love and Connection, Contribution.

One of the basic needs of your prospect is certainty. Communicate this both in words and in your demeanour.?

Confidence - don't wait for confidence to how up.

Congratulations, now you have followed the previous 4 Cs, you now have confidence. Don’t wait for confidence, it will elude you until you care, have courage, are consistent, and are certain in yourself, your service, and what you want to be known for.?

A Mindset Method

Exploring the 5Cs method—Care, Courage, Consistency, Certainty, and Confidence—it's clear that effective content creation is more than a checklist; it's a mindset that requires dedication and a deep understanding of your audience's needs.?

This framework isn't just about improving your content; it's about transforming your approach to communication in all aspects of business. Embrace these principles wholeheartedly, and watch as they bring clarity and impact to your marketing efforts, helping you surpass what you thought was possible.
