Welcome to the monthly newsletter, Business Strategy Mastery. Where you will learn some skills and hear from other experts in the field about various business strategies that will help you grow your business, gain momentum, and take your business to a place of sustainable profitability.
The year is 2024, we're excited because we rang in the new year just a few days ago. As soon as the alcohol levels or the ringing in our ears from the loud music subsides and leaves our systems, we begin to ask ourselves "Okay, how will this year be different than all the ones in the past?"
There are many entrepreneurs who in the past few years have been coming to terms that perhaps working in a full-time 9-5 no longer was serving them or they were not finding fulfillment and satisfaction. There can be a whole bunch of reasons as to why people feel discontent and why people are starting to take a stand to either go searching for a better job or start their own business.
Whatever the case may be, the common question we keep hearing is "How do I gain momentum, and get this business off the ground, enough so that it would be sustainably profitable?"
I struggled with this too.
For the past few years, I have been building YKC Group and it wasn't the smoothest of rides. 2023 was a truly humbling year and it taught me a lot. One of the main things I came to realize was I needed to upskill and work on a focused strategy.
This newsletter will discuss some lessons, strategies, and action steps you can take, here and now, today, and start applying them. This is a monthly newsletter, so we will take these large principles and break them down into smaller, bite-sized actionable steps which you will be able to apply in the next 30 days. Each newsletter will have a theory part (Business Strategy) section, a practical application part (Mastery), and a section where we will highlight another professional (Highlight) who is applying or teaching this principle. The hope is that you get the maximum level of value from these newsletters in a way that you can take practical steps today and get your business to the next level it needs to be.

Since early 2020, many people have come to realize the importance of coaching and learning new skills. Many people were fortunate to have the time to kick back, sit on a comfortable couch, bed, or chair, and learn new skills. How many books or online trainings have you taken since 2020 until now?
As great as all those training, coaching sessions, and reading of books are, many people are now starting to get frustrated. It's great that I have all these theoretical skills and new knowledge, but how does it practically apply?
This objections and arguments are valid.
You see, during the years 2020, 2021, and most of 2022, people were stuck indoors and had lots of time to sit and learn. Those who took advantage of this time to learn and grow, are in a seriously advantageous spot. However, it's important to realize that people were physically sitting on a couch, bed, or comfortable chair and doing this learning. My grandfather used to always say "Business is done in the streets" - meaning now is the time to take all the theory and take the practical application steps.
I was talking to a few colleagues and friends of mine and they were telling me that they feel they have "graduated" from being coached, and how one of my friends was just "fired" by his coach for "not being coachable". To which I would respond "That's okay. Permit yourself to be in a current season of not being coachable. You just got what is equivalent to a 3-year college education, put the theory into practical use, and when you are ready to grow further, you will then be coachable again." All to say, many are done with the theory and they are now looking for the practical steps.
It is precisely these practical steps that will get you to launch that business off the ground, gain momentum, and lead your business to sustainable growth.
For this reason, we put together a 3-part Series that is full of action steps - no theory (only some context). During each of the 3 workshops, the participants will be given exercises and challenges that are practiced on the spot. Those who join the current "Free" version - will be given skillsheets that are easy to follow and easy to come back to as they practice the exercises on their own beyond the workshop.
Those who join the limited exclusive VIP experience are given additional materials in the form of worksheets and more personalized one-on-one ongoing attention. The VIPs get to be part of a community and group that will hold each other accountable and who are encouraged to keep practicing on each other the skills and the strategies suggested in each of the workshops.

The lesson I took from his quote was, that people will prefer to do business with you or refer business to you if they have a pleasant relationship with you. I kept asking myself, "How does that work, practically speaking? How can I earn someone's trust? How can I get them to like me enough to do business or refer business to me?" After all, it sounded very appealing to me that there was some form of magical way to avoid nagging, high-pressure sales, and business was simply going to flow my way through the means of a referral system. "If only..."
After taking Bob's courses, "Selling The Go-Giver Way" and "Endless Referrals - The Go-Giver Way Video Course" and then applying those lessons learned from these incredible courses (highly recommended, just btw), my business has seen a dramatic turn for the better.
This is what led me to eventually create the Business Strategy Mastery Series . How do I go from just an ordinary stranger to someone who knows, likes, and trusts others to send business and referrals their way? How can I strategically create such a system that will not only benefit me and my professional life but my referral partners and business alliances as well? The secret is hidden in the intent that is behind the strategy - which is what Bob re-inspired in me. The focus is entirely set on the "end-user" the one that my business alliances, referral partners, and I service together. Ending in what we call a "Win-Win-Win".
