Mastering the Art of Winning New Business on LinkedIn

Mastering the Art of Winning New Business on LinkedIn

Good Morning fellow recruiters and LinkedIn aficionados! Welcome back to another edition of The Recruiter Life Chronicles, where we dive into the life shattering world of talent acquisition.

Today, we're tackling a subject near and dear to every recruiter's heart: How to win new business on LinkedIn without losing your sanity. Let's face it, in a sea of Inmails flooding the inboxes of hiring managers, standing out can feel like trying to find a quiet spot in a crowded coffee shop. But fear not, loyal readers, for we've got some tricks up our sleeves to help you cut through the noise and land that coveted reply.

First things first, let's talk about crafting the perfect cold Inmail. It's like writing a love letter, but instead of professing undying affection, you're selling your recruitment services. Keep it short, sweet and personalised. No one wants to read a novel in their LinkedIn messages, especially not a hiring manager with a million other things on their plate.

Start by addressing them by name (none of that generic "Dear Hiring Manager" nonsense) and mention something specific about their company or recent achievements. Show them that you've done your homework and that you're genuinely interested in what they do. Trust me, flattery will get you everywhere.

Subject: Not Another Recruitment Pitch

Hi [Name],

I'll cut to the chase – I've been doing a little light stalking (the good kind, I promise) and stumbled upon your companies Vacancies.

You probably get hundreds of those sleezy recruitment pitches every time you post a new vacancy so why would I be any different?

I’m just looking for 10 minutes of your time over the phone to discuss a bit more about [Business Name], tell you a bit about how I can potentially help and answer any questions we could both have.

Worst case scenario, we’re not the right fit for one another and all you’ve lost is 10 minutes of your time.

When is a good time to talk?

Best,

[Your Name]

Now, onto the follow-up game. We've all been there – you send a carefully crafted Inmail into the void and hear nothing but the sound of crickets chirping in response. Don't take it personally; hiring managers are busy people. But that doesn't mean you should give up hope just yet.

A well-timed follow-up can make all the difference. Give it a week or two, then fire them a friendly reminder. Keep it light and casual – you're just checking in to see if they had a chance to read your message. Throw in a funny GIF or meme to break the ice and show off your charming personality.

Waiting for your reply

And remember, persistence pays off. If at first, you don't succeed, try, try again (but maybe not too many times – no one likes a stalker). Sometimes all it takes is a little nudge to get the ball rolling.

So there you have it – the not-so-secret recipe for winning new business on LinkedIn. It's all about personalisation, persistence, and a healthy dose of humour. Now go forth and conquer those Inmails like the recruitment rockstars you are!

Until next time, keep living that recruiter life – one LinkedIn message at a time.

Yours in recruitment adventures,

This is a great article. Thank you for putting it together. I'd be over the moon to lay my hands on more of such as I am determined to be a recruitment rockstar!

I don’t recommend ever attempting to BEGIN a new business relationship with an email. It’s just weak & passionless business behaviour - and, your just running away from confronting an objection or being rejected (don’t worry, it’s all part of being successful) I know the following works: ( all on the same day) 1. Call them - even if you don’t end up getting through - call them. 2. Send a Linkedin request with additional text - this will swiftly establish/cement any profession credibility you have. 3. Write to them - using paper - sign it personally - unlike an email, this is guaranteed to reach them - attach a card. 4. Two days later - call them again!!! I hope this is helpful? Remember - if we do easy things business gets harder! When we do harder things, business gets easier! https://www.provenpartnership.co.uk/training/ The best
