Mastering the Art of Material Development: A 17-Year Journey in Creative Production

With a rich and diverse career spanning 17 years in the marketing, communication, and creative sectors, I've had the privilege of serving as a vendor for esteemed international donor organizations. This journey has afforded me a deep understanding of the work skills and material development policies of Program Heads, Coordinators, and Program Managers within these organizations. Noteworthy names like UNICEF, Giz, Swisscontact, FHI, CARE, Netherlands Embassy, Swiss Embassy, Hellenkiller International, and more have been partners in this journey. Through hands-on involvement in the research, design, and production of various educational and communication materials, including books, reports, toolkits, flyers, brochures, educational games, and formats, I've witnessed firsthand the meticulous process undertaken by international donor organizations.

The Evolution of Expertise:

In the realm of creative production, I initially delved into design work myself. As time progressed, I transitioned into the role of a production coordinator, immersing myself in the actualization of these materials. This hands-on experience has provided me with an extensive knowledge base in book and report production. In my capacity as a production coordinator, I became intimately acquainted with the nuances and requirements of print design. Elements such as color, form, layout, registration marks, font size, spine measurement, paper thickness, paper coating, and binding became my realm of expertise, honed directly on the printing press.

Fusing Communication, Creativity, and Production:

Having served my clients as a communication coordinator for an extended period, I initially prioritized content processing. However, I also took it upon myself to educate clients about the technical intricacies of production. This dual focus engendered a high level of trust, as clients appreciated having a professional with competencies in communication, creativity, and production. This unique skill set not only ensured a strong start to every project but also minimized the risk of oversights or errors, creating a seamless workflow from inception to completion.
