Mastering the Art of Communication: A Vital Skill for Teachers, Speakers, and Everyone!

Communication is the key to creating a lasting impact on people's lives and influencing them positively. Effective communication involves mastering all the elements that make it successful, which include content (7%), tone (38%), body language (55%), and treating people fairly. As a teacher and keynote speaker, I have explored these elements meticulously and, in fact, have strategies to share with the rest of humanity. I firmly believe that it's not about what we say; it's all about how we say it.

According to research, the average attention span has dropped from 20 minutes to a mere 8.25 seconds, according to some studies, the average attention span is only eight seconds (I don't want to undervalue humans to this extent) making it challenging for teachers and speakers to keep their audience engaged. To combat this, one needs to master the art of communication, which involves practicing non-violent communication.

Non-violent communication is a powerful tool that focuses on creating a harmonious and empathetic environment. It emphasizes understanding others' feelings, needs, and values, and communicating one's ideas effectively.

As a non-violent communication practitioner, I recently conducted a session on the same at PDYHR Circle in Puducherry, which received excellent feedback from renowned HR professionals and MBA students. The session included a perfect blend of content, tone, body language, and treating people fairly, enabling me to engage and influence my audience successfully. Many times, people wonder how people are attentive in my sessions, and somebody even came and told your classes something different, and somehow, we made it to paying attention and asked what the secret was. I hope this article has revealed and clarified things for you. I also added the feedback at the end for your reference.

In conclusion, let us all strive to master the art of communication by incorporating elements of communication and create a positive impact on people's lives. I invite you to add your expertise to the article and provide feedback in the comments section.

Let us learn and grow together as effective communicators!
